Okay Marie-----------Tomorrow I go down to the 7mg (gave myself a 14 mg extension after my "slip")so I will be right by your side. Hubby went down last week. Something interesting happened to him yesterday. He forgot to put one on, but did not realize it until noon. I find that amazing! Of course, once he noticed, he broke his neck to get the store to buy more! But I think it is interesting that he didn't notice any difference. Post! I will be thinking of you! Positive thoughts! Oh, BTW, stay out of coping with withdrawels today................... ;p

Members, Whether you coming off or cutting down on the patch or you've just hit the "50 day slump", remember to use your coping mechanisms. Use the same strategies that got you through hell week and know it will pass just like it always has. Keep up the great quits everyone! Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Marie, I came off of the lozenges about 3 weeks ago. When I was using NRT, if I had a crave, I would pop a lozenge in my mouth and get a fix of nicotine. Now, I pop a mentos in my mouth instead. The crave still goes away; sometimes quickly; sometimes not so quickly. I used the patch before I started with the lozenges. I had the hardest time going from 14mg to 7mg. That is when i started using the lozenges so I could just have one whenever I got a bad crave, instead of a steady flow from the patch. I would not suggest going to any other NRT. It just prolongs getting all the nicotine out of your system. Deal with the craves as they come and know that someday, they will be gone! My advice?? Buy stock in kleenex. I sobbed my way to being a non-smoker. Now I am smiling. :) Hang in there. It will pass. WHEW!!! Marie, Sharing is where it is at! Thanks for this and know that you are doing well. What are you doing to combat that feeling? Use distraction and rewards to bring you back up, it can help! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
