JDee: If you smoked only three in one night after a good length of time quit, you will not really have the same intense withdrawels. That's why it is good that you got right back on with your quit quickly. Congrats on your husband for quitting. I am proud of both of you! By the way, don't let the ease of quiting again play mind games with you---that's when the nicodemon sneaks in and convinces you that you can control when and how much you can smoke. It's a lie! NOPE is the only way to go!

JaynDee, Glad to hear all is well and you are maintaining your quit! Congratulations to both you and your husband. You're level may not have been as high as it was the first time you quit but be sure to have your coping mechanisms ready for cravings. Keep persevering, Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi JaynDee, Wow Day 4!!! Congratulations :) I remember when I was going through hell week, there's a GOOD reason why they call it that- You are definitely not feeling as you were when you were smoking. You are NOT going nuts. And before you make ANY assumptions about what might or might not be wrong with you, ask your doctor about it. Chances are what you are experiencing is all part of the detox. So wait it out a bit, and if it continues then you will want to call. You are changing but it will be a change in the fact that the nicotine along with all the chemicals are leaving your body and your system. You are detoxing, so you are going to experience some rough spots on this. You will get through it though, one moment at a time. And the REAL YOU will emerge, bright and beautiful out from all the smoke :) I want to make sure you know that your hubby's quitting has nothing to do with your quit. YOU OWN YOUR QUIT SO PROTECT IT WITH EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT. Don't worry about who else is or is not quitting in your house, or in your life. Look to us for support and anyone else in your life who is extremely supportive in your decision to quit. I'm looking forwad to hearing how you are doing. Many Blessings, Eve :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 97 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 780 Amount Saved: $582 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 4 Mins: 58 Seconds: 38

Hi JaynDee - Nicotine is a horrible and very powerful addiction. Gentle down the energy around you, JaynDee... You are going through Hell week (we call it around here). You are not the same - you are on a path to freedom from addiction. Stay close to this site, do some meditation/deep beathing, focus on nothing but your breath. CLEAR YOUR MIND... Sleeping helps many, walking is great, especially power walking to move the energy through and out. And go back and read old posts... Your mind is just going 100 to nothing w/all kinds of thoughts, especially fear... Quiet your mind down, GENTLY push thoughts away when you need peace. We're here to support you - hold on tight, and be compassionate and loving w/yourself... Hi JnD, In the first week, you're definately a different person. Different from the person who smoked and also different from the person who doesn't smoke that you'll become. I know you aren't now, but your body is unconvinced. Your desire to not smoke is in conflict with the psychological habit your mind remembers. This shall pass. Stay strong and you will prevail. We're here to help. May the Quit be with us. -carpepax My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 519 Amount Saved: $649.6 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 1 Mins: 19 Seconds: 45

Jayndee, You will emerge as a different person in many ways. As you go through each change, you will experience yet another benefit of quitting smoking. You will learn how to feel your emotions, instead of numbing them with nicotine. You will probably start hanging out with more non smokers, versus smokers. You will handle stress without puffing. And you will relax with out inhaling poisonous gases into your lungs. You have the right attitude..."I will never pick up a cigarette again" That is HOW to quit. JaynDee, At times quitting smoking can mask a symptom or symptoms that we did not know really existed. Feeling the way you are can be the emotional withdrawal from quitting smoking. You have to ask yourself if these feelings are from quitting smoking or have these feelings always been a part of your everyday life. Have you always been a worrier? Are these feelings in general or are they specific? If these feelings persist then it would be best to make an appointment with your family doctor. This will also be a chance for your doctor to track how your overall health is coping with quitting smoking. Please keep us posted on how you are feeling on a daily basis and if you decide on seeing your family doctor. Take care, Melanie _____________________ The SSC Support Team
