Yes, cristinas, I read a review a few days ago. I intend to buy the Wii and Wii Fit Plus. I'm moving and there are a few things I need to buy for the new place. So I'm waiting a little to shop. I'm getting ready to reward myself big time.

Just read a review for Wii Fit Plus - maybe that will help too (Can you tell I am bias when it comes to chosing exercise routines??? But, as I said earlier - this is what worked for ME - I am lazy (sic) and don't have lots of money...)
Good luck
Cristina

Brenda,
I am using the Wii Fit and just ordered Wii Fit Plus. I have to admit I am a big fan - that is what got me going. The Yoga exercises are great; Strength is pretty good for your legs/hips - not much on the upper body, but still good; Aerobics - Free Step and Free Run - I am having a blast with; also the Hula Hoop - you get to break a sweat, on these; Balance part is more so you can say you had some fun in all this. But for me, it is a great one - gets me going without boring me to death. It's the first time in more than 15 years that I am sticking to a daily routin - I have 40 days now. Every day for about 45 minutes, weekend about 1 1/2 hours. Try it if you can. You might like it as well. And it is way cheaper than a personal trainer... Hope this helps
Cristina

Brenda,

May I offer a hug on the passing of your kitty friend - It doesn't matter where they are staying, they always have a place in our hearts.

Take care -

Yes, many people have given me their support. I'm still deciding how I'm going to exercise, since it will be too cold in a few weeks to go bike riding and walking. I'm thinking I will join the YMCA and/or buy a Nintendo Wii Fit Plus. (If anyone has any experience using the Wii to exercise, I appreciate hearing from you.) Right now I'm missing living in California where I could do the same activities year round. Smoking will have priority.

I think the other day I was sad because one of my cats (that an ex had custody of) was euthanized. I was feeling a little like the diet was causing a low grade cigarette craving. I thought planning the diet was doing it. Actually, thinking about losing weight is freeing. Remember, I don't have a job. Working is not an added stressor for me, although boredom is. I intend to start a volunteer job at one of the museums.

I think quitting smoking is making me more health conscious, period. That's a good thing.

Brenda,

You are doing great - keep it up. Marivi is right - set yourself an easy an enjoyable exercise task, like walking. It doesn't really matter what it is as long as it is exercise. I find cycling to be helpful. Great to get fresh air in your lungs and it doesn't expend that much energy. Write a schedule of exercise for the week and do it. Your health is your wealth. Trite but true. Remember to set yourself rewards also. If you don't nobody will. You deserve a reward. Quitting nicotine is not easy and you have done it. So losing a few pounds (excuse the pun) will be "a piece of cake" for you. Easy. I have read your other posts and I recognise how caring and encouraging you are to other people and so the last thing I want to do is discourage you. I don't want to sound pompous or unclear either but I have a very strong feeling that you can do it - bit by bit, inch by inch, row by row you can make your garden healthy(the garden being your body).

Regards,

Scruffy.

I know you will find the way to lose the weight. The 7 pounds you have gained are less harmful than the nasty cigarrettes you use to smoke. So congratulate yourself. Just try to eat healthier and I suggest you to buy a pedometer and try achieve a walking goal daily.
Hugs
Marivi

Hi my doctor is demanding that I lose weight. Unfortunately, I have a number of health problems that are related to being fat. I'm not just overweight. I'm obese--40 pounds over. The theory is that my diabetes, asthma (which has been a monster the last few months), and sleep apnea will all get better through weight loss. I even have swallowing problems that the otolaryngologist is waiting to see if weight loss helps, instead of surgery. I'm at the doctor's office at least once a month and lately, my doctor has been issuing warnings against anymore weight gain (I've gained seven pounds since I quit smoking), although some of my medications may be partly to blame. I'm not at all athletic. Plus winter is coming. It'll be difficult to go for a walk soon. I have plans. Don't discourage me. If it comes down to a choice between weight loss and not smoking, not smoking will win out. Actually, losing weight will be a reward. I had been waiting to quit smoking to do so.

A friend of mine wants me to help start a new business. I told her that I won't take on anything else for six to eight months.
