I sure do hope it levels off. I keep hearing that it does. That is the one thing I lean on and keep on keeping on. Thanks Funk, that gives us hope that the weight will level off. Lots of us are battling that battle, some more than others. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 141 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,525 Amount Saved: $1,487.55 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 6 Mins: 20 Seconds: 43

funk, Thanks for sharing that rare story. It can help others with their journey :) It was great to see you working with your doctor and continously asking questions :) Josie, Support Specialist

For starters, this is the best site to help smokers stop smoking. OK, moving on. When I quit, I gain alot of weight. When I say alot, I mean 60lbs. I went to my doctor and he said in rare cases this happens. What was happening in me was the nicotine was killing most the nutrients from the food I was eating. My white blood count was low also. He said it was indicitive of the condition. The nicotine was killing everything that came in including viruses. Hardly got sick also. When I quit, I got sick from everything until my autoimmune system boosted itself up to the normal levels. I ate less but gained more weight. It has taken some time but the weight is finally leaving, thank god! I don't know if this post helps anyone, but there will be others on this site that will go through the same thing. Just hold your head high and count the hours you are adding to your life.
