E-Ciggs

I just saw a post on the ffsonline.net program that stated the FDA had not approved the product and they may contain harmful products. So, I am sticking with the patches and returning my very expensive E-Cigg!

Hello everyone,

Electronic cigarettes have not been designed to help people quit smoking and they have not been proven to be a safe and effective nicotine replacement therapy. They may pose risks such as nicotine poisoning and addiction to users.  The sale of the e-cigarette is not legal in Canada. Smokers wanting to use nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to quit should consider approved and tested products (e.g. patch, gum, inhaler, or lozenge).

I had also looked at this option but found that it wasn't going to work for me.  I figured that by still doing the hand/mouth action that I would eventually get tired of doing the same action and not be getting nicotine.  It was too close to smoking for me that it would have just made it easier to make the excuse to smoke.  This is strictly my opinion on what I thought would not work for me.  Remember we are all different and it usually doesn't hurt to try something new.  Only you will know if you are getting the right benefit out of it.  I know 2 other people.....it worked well for one but horribly for the other.  Weigh the pros and cons for yourself.  Try learning a new "habit" and see what happens.  Many people here use ice cold water.  Take a sip everytime you have a craving or thought of smoking.

It is an electronic cigarette. Looks like a cigarette, you inhale "smoke" which is just water vaporized and there are no harmful chemicals or nicotine. It helps with that hand/mouth habit we miss.
