Yes, that is a toughy.

Hopefully you two can come to some sort of an agreement. Freespirit has good ideas.
Ticklish subject though. Maybe think back to when you were smoking and how it's was hard to tell how stinky it was.
How would you have liked to be approached? What would have worked for you?
Maybe just a kind word about health concerns, both for her and you.

Hope this works out for you!

Well, I guess there is no sure fire way to handle when others smoke.  As that is going to be part of life, but I can suggest that since you said she smokes in your car you could politely ask if she would not smoke in your car, as it is making it hard on you.  The house might be a little different if you are sharing the expenses on the house as then it is part theres also.

Not sure of your situation, I guess just talk to them about your concerns and see if you can work out a happy medium.

Anyone have any surefire ways to cope with smoking that's with you everyday? My S.O. still smokes.  She tries not to smoke right in my face, but still smokes in all parts of the house and my car.  The longer I'm smoke free the more I notice it and need to get away from it.  She also smells like an ashtray and that's a bit of a turnoff these days.
