You've got 10 days under your belt and that's a huge achievement. Be happy that you now know that you can stay away from cigarettes.  Tough it out, Brenda!

Hi bgaines

The next time that voice comes knocking, stick it in an envelope and send it to Wisconsin.  Kelly and I will stuff it full of cheese and have a cow step on it.

Hang in there BG.................that voice will quiet down.

That voice can get pretty loud sometimes, but we need to learn to ignore it.  It is very hard at first, but gets quieter as time goes on.  Hang in there and pretty soon it is just a whisper, and if you hum a happy tune, you can't even hear it anymore.  Your doing great, just keep on going, you can do it.

I was having a good day.  Got up. Went for a walk, and then ran on the treadmill. I decided to go downtown, just to get out of the house. Grabbed a bite to eat, felt a little tweak, so I chewed some gum. On the bus ride home, a little voice came out of nowhere. It was jabbering about the fresh aroma of cigarettes. I thought, "I'll call my sister (she's 6 weeks into a cold turkey quit). The voice shot back with, "F***, Carolyn. There's only the two of us in this world." Well, I did call Carolyn. We had a good laugh. She told me about the voice that came over her during her last quit. The voice asked, "Who in the h** told you you can't have a cigarette. You're grown. Turn your butt back around and go into that store and get you some cigarettes.

My Milage:

My Quit Date: 7/17/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 5
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 175
Amount Saved: $63.88
Life Gained:
Days: 0 Hrs: 14 Mins: 53 Seconds: 36
