Good Morning, All!
I just looked at my meter and realized that it has been 18 days since I smoked a cigarette~~~EIGHTEEN DAYS! If anyone had told me I could actually pull this off, I would not have believed them. I smoked for over 36 years, and in that time, I thougth about quitting so many times, but always had this excuse or another as to why I did not need to quit.
If I had only known then what I know now~~Yes, quitting smoking is hard. Once you get by those first few days of actual physical cravings, then it is all in the mind. Tell yourself each morning, I will be smokefree all day today, I think this site and the meter has kept me going and kept me "honest". I have realized those cravings for exactly what they are (nicodemon) and have been able to overcome them.
To all of those who are hestitant, those who are on here looking to find information and read others posts, just try it. Give up cigs for just one day, then make it one more day, then another...before you know it, eighteen days have passed and the future looks bright ahead! I read posts from Tresa and others and look at their meters and it had filled me with hope and the conviction that this IS the quit I was hoping for! ;)
Good Luck to each and every one of you! If I can do it, you can too, trust me!
