Lainey, You may not feel like you were that strong but that's how you get stronger: more practice. Pat yourself on the back, you did great today! Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Thanks guys! Each day is new and different now. The mornings are my best! It is getting to be "What will today bring?" and so far, for the most part it has been more good days then bad ones. Although I know, there will be more bad ones, spending the time here with you wonderful people is giving me the confidence to face it! You're the best! :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 688 Amount Saved: $284.85 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 7 Mins: 44 Seconds: 20

Lainey, you may not have been as strong as you felt you should have been, but you were strong enough. There is so much in our lives that triggers thoughts of smoking, and discomfort about our changing identities. Some days it's maddening. One trigger after another. But it's funny how the mind works. I was sitting here yesterday and thinking, "I wish I could just have a little rest from the cravings. They never seem to go away". And five minutes later I caught myself thinking, "The cravings are much milder and less frequent now". LOL!!! When the cravings come, it seems like they've always been there... and like they're never going to go away. When they're gone... it seems like being a non-smoker is the most normal thing in the world! :) The addict in you lost the battle yesterday... and the 'real' Lainey won. I wish as much for you today and everyday...until your life is what you truly want it to be. I need to play some Daniel Powter. I had a tough one, drove to the city, shopping and in & out of the car alot (and used to have a smoke every time I got in it) and busy and tired. Funny thing, Old Nick did make me panic, but I made it thru. I wasn't as strong as I thought I should be...I need to work harder on being mentally prepared for the physical craving. I think maybe that is what cathces us off guard. You know in your mind what you want to do, and then when it happens, the addiction bites you with surprise. Well, he didn't bite hard enough! I am still a non smoker! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 676 Amount Saved: $284.85 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 6 Mins: 21 Seconds: 51
