I never coughed as much now as when I smoked. I had the morning smokers cough, I cleared my throat alot but unless I was sick, I didn't cough all day (that I'm aware).
What is coming out from my lungs is, for lack of a better term and to keep it as nice as possible, gross and discolored. I plan on talking to my doctor about it. My husband is not having this symptom.
Also, has anyone ever given thought to the test "early lung cancer detection". My sister sent me a snippet a couple of years ago and I don't think many insurance companies cover it, I would pay out of pocket but I'm afraid.
Thanks in advance.
Marie

NewPapa,no, it started about 7 days after I stopped (for the time December 24 till I came here, I smoked the equivalent of 5 cigs). So about when I got here........I'm glad I read that thread N2K, thank you for linking it.
That is now in my journal. If I ever went back to smoking, I'ld have no one but myself to blame. I've learned so much about myself since I started educating myself on my addiction.
I'm truly horrified that I didn't smell the coffee earlier, or take my addiction seriously.

It happens just as Josie says it does. Although gross, it wasn't scary at all...just a re-affirmation of the damage smoking does. My cough is completely gone now, and I LOVE IT!!!!!

Don't panic...it kept me up at night too. Now the only thing keeping me up is the hubby snoring....don't get me started on that!!! :confuse:
Seriously though, it never hurts to make a doc's appointment and get checked out. That's always the best thing to do if your concerned.
