A Bad Episode

18 years ago 0 31 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
hello Msparkyace I've had very similar episodes in the last 5 days. I use the 4mg lozenge and I think they may be too strong for me. I started cutting them in half and they do the job that way just fine. They also make my head spin and I always feel a little dizzy with them. Marie said take deep breathes, that always works. Your doing great, keep it up.

I'm on day 5 and hadn't had too many problems after day 2, just the normal cravings. Today I was out shopping and suddenly my legs felt weak, I got shakey inside, sweaty and dry mouth. I wasn't thinking about smoking at all. It lasted about 20 minutes and went away gradually. It was a scary feeling and I had to hang on to the grocery cart just to steady myself. I'm on the patch but I smoked 2 packs a day so doubt that I'm getting too much nicotine. Anyone else had something like this happen? Marian

Msparkyace, sounds like a little panic attack, I've seen this posted quite a few times. Deep breaths is the key, 3 or 4 in a row to get oxygen to the brain. Congratulations on day five, hell week almost over :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 113 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,701 Amount Saved: $452 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 22 Mins: 56 Seconds: 5

Not like that. I am also on the patch, and this past Sunday, which was my seven day mark. I felt my heart beat a little faster, got a little hot and light headed and lasted for about 15 minutes. I came on here and read threads did some things with my kids and it passed. I took it as a bad craving. I have the 14mg patch, so I know it's not too much nicotine, come to think of it even with the patch, maybe we had a lack of nicotine coming into our bodies and had to wait for more to be released from the patch. Just a thought. Keep up the quit and good luck Freebird ~'~ My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 310 Amount Saved: $42 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 12 Mins: 51 Seconds: 18

MS, You body will react differently to the quit. Take the time to relax yourself and check with your doctor to rule out anything medical. Smoking has a habit of masking problems and when you quit they become more noticeable. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
