72 hours is the minimum amount of time it takes the nicotine to leave. It can take longer. Because of experience, I decide I was clean until after the fifth day. Well, it ain't Nicodemon. It's the nicotine. Hang in there. I had the racing pulse, heart palpitations, even vomiting. About 48 hours into it were the worse. Hi Grace - You are almost done with Hell Week - I had to smile as I read all the symptoms that I faced that week for myself. It was Hell! I felt like a spaced out weirdo and acted like one too. My friends and family looked at me like I was a crazy woman...and I was on Wellbutrin and thought I was doing so well. Little did I know....LOL But you are doing this for yourself and your family. Just think of all the wonderful years that you will have with your daughter because of this beautiful decision to continue your life...not to mention the 2nd or 3rd hand smoke that your child will be free of. I am proud of you! Be strong! Grace, Sounds like anxiety to me. Take some really deep breaths, slowly. Drink ice water and try to just take it easy. I had similar feelings when I quit. I would get extremely dizzy too. Remember the old commercials... this is your brain (egg) this is your brain on drugs (egg frying in pan) Well... this is your brain on oxygen. Hang in there. Distract yourself, read a book, do a puzzle, watch TV, anything that will occupy your mind. You are doing great. And of course, as the mods would say, if these symptoms persist, do not hesitate to contact your physician :) You are going to be fine.
