X-smoker - you sound like you have a great attitude. Just keep it up - that's really all there is to it. There is no secret. Yes, with time, that voice will get more and more distant. I agree with everything N2K said, completely. Take it one day at a time and know everytime you ignore that voice you weaken it. Follow the plan - don't smoke - reward yourself - get back to the gym - live long and prosper...
also, by all means, document this struggle. Personally, I've got a folder on my computer that I copy posts to and a diary of sorts that I've been keeping track of progress and whatnot. My memory isn't the greatest, so I'm relying on these to remind me of the turmoil I've been through to get to where I am.
