HP you crack me up.  Somehow I can't picture you grumpy!  You're always so upbeat here!

And no, there's nothing like a blinking Hot Doughnut sign calling your name. How are we supposed to resist that?

Sadly, I live less than 10minutes from one. A drive through.

I need a diet myself. The day I quit smoking I started the diet that I had been planning. The quit was an afterthought. Went great for awhile to do them concurrently as I did not gain a pound I didn't lose one either. I held out for eight weeks then the diet went out the window. lol!   And really... everybody just loved being around me during that phase! ayaiaiai.
Hats off to you for succeeding!

We do have Krispy Kremes in the UK, there is a concession inside the Selfridges store in Birmingham. My husband and daughter are addicted to them, and dare I say it I dont like them (duck for cover) When we are in the USA they buy tons of them as they are so cheap compared to the ones here, so maybe they just dont have them where Phil is.

Krispy Kreme is less common in NYC then Dunkins, but man, they made a great pastry. They had a glazed dougnut that was about 9 pounds, it was like 1000 calories of heaven.

I just finished my 1/4 cup size 2% cottage cheese with pineapple breakfast so I especially have a Krispy Kreme craving after writing that....

I will stick to the weight watchers mantra: "Nothing tastes as Good as Thin Feels". Hmmmm... I am going to start a thread to see if we can get an equivalent no-smoking mantra!

Oh Phil.  How you are deprived over there in the UK.  Doughnuts.  Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts in the US.  The battle is as well known as Great Taste/Less Filling.  Which you probably have never heard of either.

They actually have Krispy Kreme here in Australia too, just not in the sticks where I live.

And I'll tell you that the A is for Angie.

haha.. I know who I WON'T be using to pet sit while away. lol

api - Someone here once said the anger is part of the grieving cycle that we all go through with quitting. Next up, depression! Just kidding. There is an anger to it I think, that feeling of deprivation and why can't I smoke??? I used to work with the most good natured, happy, easy going guy. Until he quit smoking - then he turned into Godzilla. He told us that he was in the Kmart parking lot and he yelled at an old lady who was just trying to cross the lane. I still laugh about that because it was soooo not him.  Don't worry, it will pass. Your brain is just freaking out right now... it will level out.
Or maybe you should just eat a doughnut!

best,
HP

Just look at it this way...more than any other time in your life, you have an excuse to be an angry a**hole!  Enjoy it.  Embrace your anger.  Kick the dog (thanks Rock) and pop a few stray cats in the rear with your bb gun!

HeeHee - Just my attempt to make you smile.
