Hello My Lady, What a beautiful Topic You have just written, I like the way You think, What part of the States are You from, I,m the Oklahoman, and Smokless, You know, I am over 4 years smokless now, and my daily life is not getting out of bed anymore and thinking of a cigerette, what I do think of my past smoking addiction, is a Bad dream, really don't want to go back there, and I won't, I've actually made a pledge once or twice on this website, that a cigerette will never touch my lips again, so why waste precious time, and days, dwelling on my loss of cigerettes, preceed on with life, someone said on here, won't mention names, but You will always be and addict, I won't buy into that theory, When I first started my Quit on this website, it was was like someone hit me with a hammer right between the eyes, and stamped on my forehead, Motivation, and Positive Attitude, And to this day over 4 years later, still have this same thinking, It will not leave me, But to think of me smoking 40 years, pack and a half aday, Why did it seem so easy for me, but yet so hard for others to quit, Anyway's, that 775 days looks good on You, You are doing right by kicking this addiction, and it shows, Do have a most Pleasant journey, and don't forget to Smile :) along the way, it's the best Medicine, Smokless In Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1618 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 48,540 Amount Saved: $6,925.04 Life Gained: Days: 378 Hrs: 8 Mins: 11 Seconds: 43

Nice post Lady, I think smoking dreams are very common and can seem very real. Mind you at 700+ days I would not have thought you would have them any more. Thanks for sharing. Maybe the way to look at it is. Well at least I smoked only in my sleep? This morning I was awaken by a dream. Something really bad happened (in my dream). I was so upset (emotional times are the times I crave the most). I went to a store and was among friends. Someone offered me a pack of Marlboro and I said no, I want Newports. The guy reached for Newports and I said "lights". He handed them to me and I walked down by the river where I continued to light up and smoke 1/2 the cigarette. I then threw it into the river. I was in that part of sleep where you are half awake and half asleep. I kept saying I can't believe I did that. Over two years and thousands of tempting moments of resistance and resolve and I finally gave in. Smoked 1/2 of a cigarette. That is what addiction does to a person. I kept thinking that I had to hurry up and post here before I woke up. I had to get to the SSC and put the experience in writing because someone must need to hear it. I don't know who but someone. I also remember dreaming that I should start a new discussion and call it "The addict smokes". The addict does smoke. The addict also has the ability to quit. I'm living proof of that. I have such a deep connection to the people on this site that it goes into my unconscious behavior. In the depth of my sleep, I smoked and knew I must post about it. The reasons why I smoked don't matter. The fact that I threw it away is what matters. I didn't have any thoughts of the meter just that someone needed to hear about this dream. There is a song we sing in church that says... "Lord lay some soul upon my heart and love that soul through me. And may I humbly do my part to win that soul for Thee". There is someone out there that needs this post (I just know it). I don't know who you are or what you are going through but I do know that with the love of God, the caring people He blesses you with through this site, and the faith of a mustard seed, you can make it through anything smoke free. That is what I have gone on for over two years now. Sometimes it hard and eventually it becomes a walk in the park. The flowers in this park smell so beautiful. I never knew flowers could smell so good until I quit smoking. Don't give up on yourself.
