Water? Well, Josie is once again correct. I dont like water that much, I drink orange juice. Ok, it has water in it. Good luck with your book and your quit. Perhaps as well its the distraction. You have the hand to mouth action but with water instead of a cigarette....creating a new habit?? Good morning everyone, I have a question and I can't find the right answer. Who can tell me why icecold water helps when you just quit? I'm writing a book about quitting and I want to know the answer to that question so that I can give an explanation to people who read my book. Who helps me out? Thanks Dutch xx My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 298 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,943 Amount Saved: 879.1 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 11 Mins: 22 Seconds: 38

Because when I pour it down my pants I tend to forget about smoking for a few minutes? Joking aside - I hadn't heard that one. Though water in general, as someone said, helps flush your system out. Hi Dutch! Cold ice water was recommended to me because I could not seem to get rid of that cigarette taste in my mouth. The taste was on my tounge and other described it as in the back of their throats. Ice water helps get rid of that taste. Every now and then I still get a "taste" for a cigarette and ice water gets rid of it every time! That's my version. I thought it was to help flush out the chemicals from the smoking out of your system. Sounds good to me so I think I will stick with that answer :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 643 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 16,083 Amount Saved: $4822.5 Life Gained: Days: 87 Hrs: 11 Mins: 53 Seconds: 15

put it in a flip top sports bottle....you now have the perfect hand to mouth distraction to take the place of a smoke. and when you are so full of ice water that you slosh....you can still sit(with your legs crossed of course) and flip the top back and forth while your eyeballs float. ;p Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1846 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 73,873 Amount Saved: $10522.2 Life Gained: Days: 243 Hrs: 13 Mins: 29 Seconds: 16
