Would I be right in saying that quitting is a form o' fart as well as a form of art? We are 3 quitters in my house and flatulence (times 3) does seem to have increased...our house no longer smells of smoke but....the gas leakages can be quite foul at times. One reason I think is that we are all eating more than we used to. I also noticed that although I sleep quite well, I am dreaming more. These are my symptoms after 3 weeks...in the first few days it was mostly the lack of concentration and being irritable for no cause. In the end, It's all worth it as there are many more positive effects than there are negative ones. Hey Phil...my hubby says I do that in my sleep too...I just figured that men say that to justify their "talent". Well Phil...I was coming up with an on-line name one time...and a friend was named "squalljacket"....I tried to think of my own name and came up with "windbreaker"....i think windy sounds better. (By the way....I'm SURE he's lying...I would NEVER do that in my sleep!) I don't know if we could consider it as a "withdrawal symptom", but I have had problems with "indigestion/constipation/flatulence" !!! :) When I read old messages in this forum, apparently this is quite a common problem with quitters! :) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 479 Amount Saved: $235 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 21 Mins: 34 Seconds: 4

QM said: - "Would I be right in saying that quitting is a form o' fart as well as a form of art?" I love that, QM! :) Actually, after 8 weeks of quitting, I have less problems of indigestion & flatulence. It seems my body is getting back to normalcy ... Hi Phil. For me quitting means clarity. My mind and body are clear of toxins and negative thinking. I find smoking perpetuated my stress and I lived with my stress with each stupid cig I smoked. Since I have quit 52 days ago I have decided to change careers, I am dedicated to exercise, my diet has improved 3,000% and I am happier in spirit. My brightest moment will be when I decide to sing and to pick up the flute again. I think I'm holding off until the 5th month of my quit so when I do sing and play again the difference will be AMAZING. And WHAT a REWARD that will be. I am so proud that quitting is working for me this time, I have struggled many times to quit. I am so done being a junkie. I have a new life now, I am a new person now. I remember the day I took my first cig when I was 10 years old. Now, I get to live my life FINALLY without an addiction. Having said all of that...I need to THANK EVERYONE on this team of dedicated quitters because I COULD NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU!!! I have NEVER been a great quitter. I have always hung onto being a smoker for some dumb reason and in desperation and understanding that I could NOT do this by myself - I found YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE...SO... THANKS EVERYONE...KNOW AND UNDERSTAND WITH EVERY WORD, EVERY INSPIRATION, EVERY SHARED STORY YOU HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE. I think of Elton John's song SOMEONE SAVED MY LIFE TONIGHT. Well, I feel saved. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU. Hugs, kisses, Love and Light Theresita My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 941 Amount Saved: $442 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 2 Mins: 11 Seconds: 37
