Hello. Thank you for your encouraging words. I went to group therapy Thursday night - the first time in a long time. It did not have much of on affect on me. I am going to see a therapist for the first time on Monday. I am hoping they will know what questions to ask me so I can start trying to get to the root of my problem and like you said - treat me. I have been on Prozac only for a few days and I am still getting adjusted to taking it. I will let you know how the Monday session goes. Take Care - Buddy iwanttolive71

Hi I too have just joined this support site after coming to terms that I have a depression disorder. Sounds awful; I know but just know that there is help out there for you. It took me a long time to find the right therapist who cared about me and what was triggering my feelings rather than just medicating me. If you haven't seen a doctor yet; you should. If he/she gives you a 2 minute conversation with four subscriptions, find another therapist who doesn't. And stick with them. I bounced in and out of therapy for years now, only treating the situation. Now I am treating me and it is starting to pay off. Please keep in touch not just because I care but because YOUR MY FIRST BUDDY!!! :)

Thank you for your response to my post. I went to the Dr. and have started on new meds. Prozac. I am also going to go to a group for support tonight. So I feel that I am doing all I can but it sure is nice to have people to talk with that understand what I am going through.

Hi looknforward05, Welcome to the site. Fellow members will be responding soon. You will see that this is a great place to share your feelings and experiences of depression with people who truly understand. You were asking about where to start, have you seen your family doctor yet? They are a good place to start and can make any referrals for counseling or therapy if recommended. Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find our Depression Test. This test is not a diagnostic tool and is not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Hello. I have been having trouble with everyday life. I found this website and I am hoping to meet a friend to talk with. I have finally admitted that I was suffering from depression. I avoided the truth for a long time and my life mood and worrying got so bad that it was affecting my personal and business relationships. It's time for me to get help and stick with the help. Any suggestions for the start to recovery?
