tolerance to Klonopin building

I was on Klonopin for 2 years and had to get off of it. Not saying everyone has issues with it but I could not take it at all. I was hallucinating on the stuff. Bad Bad for me but Paxil and Xanax helped me for a number of years. Now I need something new again as they seem to have stopped working after 8 years. *sigh* I feel your pain.

Hearts11 I have been taking Klonopin for about a year. I found it hard to fall asleep in the first week or two so I started exercising during the day and meditating before I fell asleep. It helped a ton. There are free meditation courses online for beginners and the exercise can be done in your home just make sure you try and work up a good sweat. Hope this helps....I wish you the best of luck

I have been on Zoloft for depression for a few months now (I had tried about 10 different medications in the last few years until I found one my body accepted and worked with) and I was also prescribed ambien since I can't sleep at night, and Klonopin because I panic at night as well. I started taking .5 mgs and now I am up to 2 mgs a night of Klonopin. I try not to take it every night but I am not able to relax enough to get to sleep on the nights I don't take it. My body has built up a tolerance to the ambien as well. I can take 5 or 10 mgs one night and finally get some sleep.. but the next night I can take 10 mgs of ambien again and be up till 6AM. I have even tried 10 mgs of ambien and 1 mg of Klonopin together (My dr said I could try that..) and even that wouldn't relax me enough to sleep because I had taken ambien the night before. Has anyone found an anti-anxiety drug that helps as much as Klonopin does but you don't have to increase the dose each night in order to feel the same effects?
