Failure does not count. If you accept this, you'll be successful. What causes most people to fail is that after one failure, they'll stop trying.

Hans should have added the other two also. Perception and belief.
How you look at a poor situation dictates whether it will be negative or positive. Attitude only dictates whether you will. Belief dictates whether you will accept it as positive instead of negative. The three work together.

Old events, like old newpapers should just be tossed.  I don't have any use for them.

Pretty close. Positive breeds positive but like all computers of any worth the mind opens with the last used or stored item, both for convenience and speed. Just like your computer. So yes garbage in garbage available for use first. And like your computer, you have to delete it and open something else positive. (if you are not so negative you can't or you computer has nothing but garbage in it.) (clean the cache, get rid of the garbage in your mind, it is clogging your capacity making you slow)
Make sense?

I've always believed that you can think positive just as well as you can think negative.
- Sugar Ray Robinson

What difference would it make to the mind?  Like a computer, it just follows directions, so it's garbage in garbage out or postive in and great benefits out
