Mom2jasper,
It is possible to have more than one anxiety disorder, in fact, I think it's common. I have OCD, PD, GAD and agoraphobia (which I guess is part of PD). I did not diagnose myself with these conditions.
Anyways, hope you start feeling better soon.
Sarah :)
Mom2Jasper,
I think that sounds like a really good idea!! It is important for you to get help at this stage. Keep me posted and let me know how your are doing and what I can do to help.

Well I won't be able to see my pschologist but there is a crisis center I think I am going to go to tonight. I might have to spend a few days there but I feel I really need help with this as I am not getting better on my own. :(
Dear Mom2Jasper,
Is there any chance you can get into see your psychologist any sooner. It sounds as though you could use someone to talk too. Having the tv on 24/7 as a distraction is ok, as long as it gets you through. Also, we are here for you, even if you just want to voice your thoughts!
Take care of yourself,
Susanne
I also remember reading in one of my many many anxiety self help books that people with GAD sometimes have fuzzy thinking or their mind goes blank. I have also noticed I have developed some symptoms of GAD over the past couple months. I am wondering if I have that as well as PD and depression. I also exhibit symptoms of OCD. I know I can't diagnose myself, but is it possible to have a mix of the anxiety disorders?
It feels like in my case I have all of them.
Thanks for the replies. unfortunately talking to my doctor does no good. She thinks everything is "just anxiety" :( I also need my TV on 24/7 because I need the distraction. I'm not sleeping well at all. I feel like this anxiety is running my life.
I don't see my psychologist until next week but I feel like I am just falling apart. My thoughts are all jumbled and scary and I feel so hopeless a lot of times. :(
haha Yeh I'm like that Vikkee. Always after something to focus on. TV shows, book, computer, music, anything. Just so my mind doesn't search for anything new to worry about! I'm aware that avoidance only makes things worse. I do exposure everyday and experience a little fear with it, like you're supposed to. But ergh once that's over I just wanna be normal!
Hi Mom,
I'm having confusion lately too. How do I cope? Well...I take naps even if it's a power nap and almost always I feel better afterwards, but that's just me. Also, I have no schedule to keep or many responsibilities, so maybe that's not something you can do. I also have to mention that I need the television on 24/7. That way I always have something to focus on. I watch stuff like Nick at Nite or TV Land, since some of these dramas make me tense. This turned into something that seems to have nothing to do with your problem. LOL See? I'm confused!
I'm going to my therapist tomorrow, so I'll talk to him about it.
Hi Mom,
I feel terribly confused and forgetful a lot of the time, after a bad patch of panic. I forget what I'm talking about, walk into a room and forget what I was there for. That kinda thing. It's a symptom of anxiety I think. Because our minds are too busy panicking. I don't really know what to suggest, just that it happens to me too. Oh yeh a sleeping routine helps me a lot. If you've mucked up your body clock over the weekend or something, that can make you forget things. As well as bringing on anxiety.
Take care :)
