Quote of the Day Part Two

I can see what you are saying Davit but to me even just reading a few paragraphs ofthe program is trying. It all depends on where the individual is at, sometimes just getting out of bed is trying.

Shari, No need to apologize! That sounded like a scary situaton. I am glad you got it out of your system and are over it! I actually feel bad for the guy who yelled at you... imagine living life that angry! Wow.

Sorry for my previous negative post on this thread yesterday, should have kept it to myself, because I was in temporary self pity.  But, I guess I'm human and everyone has bad days, it's how long it takes you to recover from them that counts. Today, I'm over it and I've turned it into a positive by looking at it as a sign, not to go get the mail, and that maybe there's a reason. People speed down our road and I was once grazed by a car flying past and could easily get hit, so maybe it's a good thing it happened and it's safer for George to get the mail when he comes home from work, because his truck is at the base of the driveway to protect him like a shield and he is seen better also and can safely retrieve the mail.

I've been staying home too much lately which is bad, because I can easily fall into depression.  So, I went out and talked to all of the workers at Target and had Bridget, my coffee barista, make my favorite drink.  It made me happy to chat with folks.  I'm going to Japan Express for take out today.  Cindy is always happy to see me and her cheerfulness is always welcomed and is contagious.  I knitted a little sushi amigurumi set for her last time and she loved it and it made my day.

Hugs

I will always find time to support, I just might be late. Today was quite physical moving dirt on top of transplanting so I quit early. It is supposed to rain and the first crop of mosquitoes are out. Both will make it hard to change the plastic on the greenhouse. Not impossible though.

Ashley, how many times have I heard people say "it is all in your head get over it". Ridicule might be a bit strong but there are those that would love to try if they could. In the psych ward I met people who were happy to get a diagnosis even a bad one because now they knew why they couldn't function. I feel the quote has a different effect in the mental sense than the physical as I think the original was meant to be. Just my opinion though based on personal experience.

Shari.

Sorry to hear that but you know this too will pass.

Davit, Sorry to hear that.

Had a bad day too.  Went to get the mail and a passenger in a truck flew by me, threw garbage at my head and screamed at the top of his lungs, "Back Up!!!"  He really scared me.  I cried for 3 hours and got over it.

Davit,
I'll miss your support.  I'm not sure this site would be the same without you.  There just isn't much of me left, and I'm anticipating a rough time ahead.  There's so much I want to get done, and sometimes my response is just not what I want it to be.

Kathy Kalina, in her book "Wisdom for  living", writes that "...we have the ability to choose.  Among other things we can choose what will occupy our minds and how we will act.  Even if your physical condition or circumstances are out of your control, your attitude is your personal choice.  An old proverb says the same water that hard-boils the egg softens the carrot.  You can allow your suffering go defeat you, or you can...go about the business of living.  Your response to suffering gives you the key to the highest possible quality of life...".

I wish this dense head of mine could remember all this stuff.

Hope you'll be okay, and check in.

Hi Davit,

I don't think the quote is ridiculing. I think the quote was very similar to what you said "there are no lost causes unless you don't try."  If you try to manage anxiety and fail the first time you are better off then someone who hasn't tried.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your help though Davit. Take care of yourself!

Just thought I would mention that I might not be here as much as I'd like. The man I hire to help me got deported for over staying his Visa so my work load just got bigger till I can find another. What will be will be is the easiest way to deal with it. Most things work out in the end and this will too.
I'll still find time to read posts.

So what is the point of this quote other than to make people feel bad for not trying. Come on now, this is a panic site, we know that sometimes there are reasons why people don't try. Ridiculing is not helping.

The man (women) who supports and fails is better than the person who won't because it is a lost cause. There are no lost causes unless we don't try.
