Good and Bad Days

11 years ago 0 4027 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Mathew,
I have  "to do" list, which is a distillation of years of planning.  If I follow objectives in several areas of my life, I'll slowly get closer to the goals, which I've broken up, into that list, as routine as it seems.

My enthusiasm comes from any feedback from reviews with important people, on how they see me moving towards those goals, as mundane as they are.

Sometimes, i don't listen though.  Recently I was watching a physician describe something called the "empathic" response, which is how that physician would expect candidates for medical school successfully empathize with situations during screening scenarios.  I grasped the concept, I thought.

However, during an actual visit with a physician, who asked me "how are things at home", I couldn't understand that he didn't want me to read from the laundry list of concerns I had brought word processed, but he wanted to hear how I was managing emotionally.

My bad days aren't relevant to most because mine are usually triggered by being too stiff and sore to do what I want. How I get away from it is to sit in my shop thinking about projects and maybe doing a bit of work. The worst thing I can do is sit in my chair and feel sorry for myself. None of us were ever promised more than we got we just think we were. And there is always someone worse off.
Good days are when I go to bed actually tired enough to sleep with a feeling of having gotten something done no matter how little it was.
Think of me on your bad days, I may just be one of those people worse off than you.

Hi everyone,

We all have good and bad days. On good days it seems that we are motivated to conquer the world but on bad days it’s easy to not even move from bed. Finding motivation to overcome your fears can be hard on good days but even harder on bad days. We all know the benefits of being in control of our fears; self approval, a sense of accomplishment, enjoyment… just to mention a few but it can just be hard to find the enthusiasm to get there some days.

Some ways to keep on plan is to organize activities for yourself to do, both pleasurable activities and activities that give you a sense of accomplishment. Some ideas are donating to a good cause, going to the gym, completing a home project and helping your kids with their homework.  There are plenty of other ways to get motivated to seize each and everyday too. As we prepare for the weekend, please share with us how you’ve kept motivated on both your good days and not so good days.

Let us know,

Take care
