The connection between love and wellness

There are different kinds of love, and as I age, I’m trying to refine my definition. I think that as I age, I’m becoming less selfish.

There are two extremes from hedonism to self-denial, and finding the balance so we can all co-exist happily is probably the best.

Asking myself if what I’m doing is best for the common good, or “what is best for all of us” might be great, but I suppose sometimes our insatiable needs, or hormomes( if you’re a pre-teen) or hugely stressful situations make me detour.

I know I’m best when I’m at peace, but there are these powerful drives within us that I find I need to curb, so I can share the world with the rest of world, instead of thinking I need to conquer it.

This can be taken too far, although it does in that condition prevent panic or depression.

I know a couple that are both Type "A". Their aggression keeps them from panic or depression but I am sure this is not what you mean. As long as they are getting their way all goes well for them. They certainly can not relate to panic having never had it other than as the side effect of a medication. They have told me all I have to do is stop taking my meds. I certainly know the difference between Mind induced and Med induced.

So how do you keep from taking loving yourself too far?

Have you ever thought of how an improved love for oneself can improve your overall health and Wellness?
Well it can.

To love yourself is to love everything about one's emotionality, spirituality, intelligence, and your physical self.

As you begin to love yourself you will become more aware of how your surroundings and certain situations effect you.
You will also become more accepting of yourself which is helpful when starting towards any goal you may face.

This is just one of many views of how respect and love for oneself can lead to better health and wellness.

What has "loving" oneself done for you?

Stories and thoughts are welcome.
