A Little Less Pain

12 years ago 0 542 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Carmie,

Yes I can fully identify with that "frightned" feeling you had about the exhaustion, I am so tired right now I can barely keep my eyes open. I took my dog for a short walk around the block just to get some exercise and the blood circulating and I came back breathless and exhausted, like I ran twenty miles or something?! Do you think I could have that chronic fatigue syndrome? My ear and throat are starting to hurt a little again and I am trying so hard not too dwell on it, not too the point of a few days ago but its still there, I am holding on too youre words about it taking a little longer too heal, plus I think I am going to have my monthly soon, my breasts are swollen and tender and I am headachy, always a sign, I was hoping I would skip this month my body does NOT need anymore stress right now like bleeding and cramping, but that is something I cant stop its it will happen.

Please keep praying I get better Carmie I so do not want a camera down my throat or down my nose too my throat just the thought makes my heart race! I just wish the hoarseness and pain would go away its been almost three weeks, do sore throats last that long? I would think the antibotics would of kicked it out of me? what do you think? the pain is decreased but still there, that has to be a good sign I hope. I am going to try and relax maybe a nap, I hate to nap but I am so tired! Please let me know what you think and thank you so much. Deb.

Hi Debora:

When I was sick, I was completely exhausted to the point where it frightened me.  I am glad that your symptoms are getting better - that's a great sign.  Your body has been through so much lately.  I think that the worrying alone would make me exhausted and add to that healing from your infection and quitting smoking.  It sounds more tiring than a marathon, Debora.

I hope you'll continue to trust your body's ability to heal and to look for the positive.  I love talking with you.  So much that you write is so similar to the thoughts I have when I worry.  I don't feel so alone in having those thoughts and I am hopeful for both of us that we can use the tools we learn here on the site to change our thinking and to change the way we feel.

Hopefully, you will catch up on the sleep and rest you need.  Continued wishes and prayers for good health!

Hi Carmie,

I am so glad you wrote me. I am trying to think "up" the pain in my throat and ear has decreased, thank you God, and I am hoping it keeps going away, I have driven myself to the brink of a breakdown worrying about throat cancer and tubes and cameras down my throat. After you had strep did you feel completely washed out, like no energy, aches and pains and wanting to sleep all the time? I have been sleeping 12 hours a day and I know its good for the body but I dont like it too little activity is not good either, even light housekeeping has me breathless and exhausted and I look very very bad and sick, I am praying as the days go by I feel better, my monthly I think is due, I have the symptoms of it and that always makes me tired but not to this degree, I have an appt with my nurse next week, I hope I can go and I hope she can help me, I dont see the therapist anymore so medically she is all I have left, she is good, a little coolish not too warm but she knows her meds.

I read after you quit smoking you cough MORE and my mom-in-law says the same thing, its the lungs clearing out I think, I hate too cough because it hurts my throat so bad. I am so glad you are running and doing well and having good times with your son and husband. You are an inspiration to me, as Sunny is and all the rest, I have not heard from Davit for awhile I hope he is well. Did you ever feel Carmie like you were "dying" not while panicking just from lack of energy and aches and pains and depression? I hope that is normal, I feel like I have that CFS, chronic fatigue syndrome or something! Thank you Carmie for youre prayers and compassion, you have been like angel too me, thank you, my hope and prayer is to recover both physical and emotionally so I can help others too like I have been helped, I especially hope that prayer is answered.

Hi Debora,

I am so proud of you Debora for quitting smoking!  Debora, this is AMAZING!  I quit smoking about 13 years ago.  It was the most difficult thing I have ever done!

I am glad that the symptoms are a little better.  You know, I think that when I quit smoking, I started to get very sick.  It was so long ago.

Your symptoms can be from so many things going on - worrying, healing from your infection, healing from having smoked.  You are going to feel better than ever when you are well again.  Please believe me.  I love breathing so much now - that sounds funny but it's true.  When I used to take deep breaths, they were labored and I usually ended up coughing.  Now, when I breathe in, I feel so good having good clean air in my lungs - and I breathe away all of the bad air.  I've become a huge fan of breathing.

By the wat, I agree that worrying is exhausting.  It also makes my throat very tight.  It feels like I have a lump in my throat and sometimes I check to see if something is around my neck.    In my case, it's always my nerves.

I will continue to pray for your return to good health.

Take care and I am so proud of you!!

Hello Everyone,

As you probably know I have been having it hard lately, sick and scared. I woke this morning and the symptoms of terrible pain in my throat and ear seemed less today, I pray this continues, it went away the other day but this time its a longer period of time, I feel like whatever is in my throat is "getting smaller" I am trying to visalize that happening, it still hurts but not as extreme, I am so hoping it keeps up, also my throat is not as red and my voice is stronger, wouldnt that be wonderful if this is finally going away! Its SO hard not smoking, withdrawal is bad, I never smoked much but this has scared me, I was going to go to ER tonight but if its going away should I give it a little more time? My friends nurse said "its healing just leave it alone you dont need ER or doctor just let it heal" I so hope it continues, I had a false start, but this time its longer I am a little more optomistic.

Sunny once wrote how exhausting worry is, I so understand that now, I have been sleeping 11 or 12 hours a day, I am SO tired and achy, this had just spent me, now energy, worrying about cancer. Maybe its something else like a virus the antibotic could not work on.... the honey and lemon help and olive oil like Carmie suggested. I hope and pray this continues.
