I think I have to go to Doctor

12 years ago 0 1853 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Debora,

I am so pleased to read that you made it to see a doctor and on top of that, had a good experience at the hospital.  Continue to take it one step at a time.  Once you recover from the bronchitis...then you can start thinking about going to see your GYN.  For now, focus on healing your lungs and getting some rest.  I know it must not feel like it, especially when you are sick, but you are doing well in taking action and facing your fears as Ashley also commented on.
I hope you are feeling better today!

Hi Anerol,

I am sorry I just saw that you posted me. thanks for writing me. It was hard to go to the doctor but my back was against the wall I know I needed too when that lump in my throat was ripping pain and the wheezing and shallow breathing, I still need to see a GYN but that is going to take a lot of courage for me, I guess I have to wait till I am better from this virus, you're words helped me thank you. I sound a lot like you're Dad I have all his symptoms! I hope he is doing alright and I hope you are too, thank you for you're advice.

Thanks Ashley,

Yes I went to the doctors I am very physcially sick and know I needed too it was not a bad experience but I am very anxious and depressed by my health going down so quick and sudden and severe. I feel like I have some horrible virus and I have lost my voice completely and the wheezing and body aches scare me. I am taking my medicine and trying to rest and get well.

I do not know whether the inhaler caused those skipped heartbeats or it was anxiety or both, I called my nurse practioner earlier, she gives me my klonopin, it was hard for her to understand me because my voice is so raspy and weak but she did say the inhaler could cause the racing heartbeats, I am not going to use it unless I absolutely have too, if it happens again I know its the inhaler, the lemon and honey cough drops help too. I just do not want to go down because I am sick, I am hoping the antibotic kicks in soon, I am going to try and stay positive Ashley and rest and hope this goes away soon, thank you..

Hi Debora,

First of all congrats on making a trip to the doctor's.

As anerol suggested, if you are experiencing the feeling of skipping heart beats or chest pain, please speak with your doctor about it.

In the meantime, as the weekend approaches, what can you do to mitigate the anxiety you are feeling?

We are here for you...let us know how tomorrow goes.

Hi Deborah.
I just wanted to say how much you inspired me by accomplishing getting to the doctors. I still have yet to do that, I'm still afraid and I haven't gotten it done, but reading your experience, it made me feel like I may be able to too.

I'm sorry that you're not feeling great today. I don't use a puffer so I can't give you any of my experiences with it but I do get the feeling of skipping heart beats when I have a lot of mucus in my throat, it's hard to explain but it's like the wheezing feeling with a thudding feeling in the chest area. It used to freak me out but I just try to tell myself that it's the mucus and anxiety. I think most is anxiety because my dad has broncitis and asthma and he's always wheezing and has voice loss but he still keeps smoking and it doesn't seem to bother him at all, but if I were to get that, I'd be so worried and afraid for myself. Maybe you can call the doctor and ask him about it just to ease the anxiety and get reassurance.

Hi Ashley and Sunny,

Thank you for the encouragement I really need it today. I am almost feeling worse than yesterday, I am all alone and feel so weak and dizzy, and very panicky of course. I started the antibotics but the inhaler made my heart "skip and race beats" so now I am scared to take it. I feel so tired and wiped out and I am breathing very shallow, I dont know if I should go back to urgent care, I know my husband would be mad, I just feel like I am "dying" physcially and that makes me very scared and panicky.

I am glad I went yesterday, when my back is against the wall I will go I know, somehow I thought going to the Doctors would make me feel better but today I feel worse, no voice, that "painful lump in my throat" and wheezing and weakness, he did not do a strep culture on me which I found strange it only takes a minute, I guess he thought I did not have it, he seemed very experienced and seemed to know what he was doing. The breathing is scaring me. Did you're puffer ever give you skipped racy heartbeats Sunny?? I normally do not get those in a anxious time so they must be physical. I am so scared I am dying right now, I dont know whats wrong with me? I went and got help and still feel even sicker. Do you think some of this is panic and fear? I hate being sick, I know everyone does I just feel alone and frightened.

hi D:  So happy to hear you went to the ER and you felt safe and treated well.  This is a big success for sure.  Remember this for next time.  Positive! thoughts.  There are some good doctors and nurses out there who are compassionate and caring.  I'm really glad you saw them yesterday.
I've heard good things about those meds.  I have asthma and have a puffer - don't have to use it too often luckily - but it works very well.
Hope you start to feel better in a few days.
Thinking of you and cheering for you,
Sunny

Debora,

First of all, I am sorry you are not feeling well. It sounds like a pretty uncomfortable illness.

BUT I do have to say HOOOOORRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!! You did it! You went to the doctors and everything went fine. I am so proud of you. I know how hard this was for you but you put on a brave face and fought back against your fear. You courageous woman! This is such a big deal. Please be present to this HUGE success and reward yourself. Right now just feel good for what you did.

When you are feeling better, focus on this success to move you forward. You can move forward - this will be a big stepping stone to taking control of this anxiety.

Take care and post when you feel up to it.

Thank you Vincenzia for replying to me.

I went to the Doctors! I was very nervous but I knew I could not let this go any longer. The nurse and Doctor at Urgent Care were just wonderful, very compassionate kind and professional which helped a lot, as you know I dislike going to Doctors so I must think I am very sick to go. He diagnosed Broncitis, pharangitis, and laryagitis, with some ashmatic wheezing, I am probably spelling those things incorrectly. He gave me anti-botics, predisone, which scares me to take, and an inhaler, I am going to start the antibotics tonight and the inhaler if I need it. He said I should probably see a ENT doctor if I am not any better, but he thinks I will be, he mentioned a "polyp" possibly in the throat and I am hoping not, I am just so wore out and tired from it and the virus, but I am so glad I had the courage to go and get help, maybe next time it will be easier. It was good care.

Thank you for you're prayers and words of wisdom, Vincenzia, I hope I am better in a week, I will take the medicine. I just need to try NOT to go down emotionally and into panic from physcial illness which is typical of me. I am going to follow doctors orders, I am just glad it was a positive experience and I was in and out and treated well. I am glad I went, Thank you.

Hi Debora,  You will be in good hands with the doctor.  I'm glad you are going.  I will pray that everything goes well this evening, that you get some answers from the doctor and you will know how to treat what is causing you such discomfort.  I hope it passes quickly!
