I have to make regular telephone calls to the young hospital receptionists, who are lost in their "cyberworld"
They usually demand my personal information, and then transfer me without asking me what I want. Today, after going on their "merry-go-round" of their misdirected telephone connection, I was told they'd "called me" at two numbers, but there was no answer.
When I called back, I asked to allow myself to have the time to ask for what "I" needed, instead of being transferred to the incorrect department. I was accused of being sarcastic, since the person stated her colleague, who does the calling, was on break, I explained that maybe she should work it out with her colleague, since the patients can't distinguish the receptionists.
I also stated they should put themselves in our shoes.
I wonder if others experience the frustration of dealing with hospitals, and other organizations, which have penalties for not complying with their "rules", many of which are inefficient or outdated, with untrained people in positions of power?
My telephone land line is set at six rings so my parent doesn't rush to the telephone. My cellphone is set at six rings(and I checked it). I see the caller id on both telephones. Is this inappropriate, or am I supposed to monitor my telephone like a teen waiting for a BFF to call every waking minute of the day
