Wanted to add, how many times have people waited until they were physically ill before doing anything about taking better care of themselves. Those who quit smoking because they have a bad cough now, or xrays have shown a spot on the lungs. How about those who exercise now because they have been couch potatoes for too long and can hardly bend over to tie their shoelaces. Same thing for mental fatigue, we work hard without enough rest, without relaxation time, then we suffer the consequences with anxiety/stress related discomfort. Fear can be a great motivator. Even in some religions, fear of not attaining heaven through our own sins is a motivator.
Definitely! How many times have I decided to leave something alone until I really had to "fix" it. Then you start running out of time, yup, gotta get it done then. lol Sometimes it was lack of resources though.
Recently I was afraid of the repercussions of a city bylaw, so I got some estimates for some renovations. Once the bylaw bureaucracy backload was revealed, it bought me some time to drop the project, but I probably would have gotten it done if the renovators weren't so disorganized.
I wonder if others can motivate themselves using the "pressures" we have, since I was unusually "focused" for a week?
