I am too, yet some how I still ended up with a panic condition. Sometimes all I could see was the sadness and missed the beauty. Now I balance one with the other. Still some times the sadness creeps in. It is not a bad thing.
What inspires me is someone with great adversity, who tells how they overcame the adversity. Sometimes I'll look with awe on someone doing something with great obstacles.
Today I was at the doctor's office, and I saw an older woman who was on crutches, wating for a long time. I noticed neither of the couple could speak english, and she was waiting a long time at the office,as I had waited. She probably had just waited for my physician, for the next available time slot to see him.
I wonder how they cope, since I can speak english, and am able-bodied.
Their patience inspires me, as does the perseverance and courage of others I see daily as they overcome obstacles.
There used to be a man here named Carl. Carl's wife had Alzeimers and was in the hospital.
she lived for twenty years with it. The record I think. Every day Carl took her favourite food and fed her till she could only eat soft food, still he made her yoghurt and still went even though he was in a wheel chair because he lost a leg to diabetes. He was also a colon cancer survivor. Later he lost his other leg. He still lived at home and did his own shopping. Even when his wife died he never gave up. I saw him in the hospital when he was 86. Cancer had come back. His last words were "I'm not doing this anymore" and he died shortly after. I got the impression life was not always as easy as he made it look yet he never gave in till the very last minute. Maybe he just meant he knew he was going to die.
I wish I could be that strong, I try though. He bought a quarter section of swamp and it is a wetland preserve dedicated to his wife's memory.
Dedication to a cause against insurmountable adversary is admirable. We should all be that dedicated.
