emotional dysregulation and CBT

Loves trees,
With the fact that there still is a stigma around our conditions, I was careful about my computer use at work, being discrete.  Maybe I wasn't discrete enough, so I wasn't treated well.

Well this is a condition with the longest list of possible symptoms I have ever seen although some seem to be related. I hope this list is not scaring you into thinking you can't be cured.
If and I say If only, you know what you are dealing with that is the first step to recovery. Accepting it is the second, and learning everything you can about it is the third. There seems to be a fair bit of information for a condition that only hits 2% of the population. Anxiety is one of the symptoms and CBT can deal with that as can it deal with some of the others and possibly all of them.

Hello. Well that is the ****s isn't it. People can be so stupid. And I must say I would rather be bipolar than stupid and luckily I'm neither. So I gather you have studied this condition and are pretty sure you have it. What is the treatment? Is it mood stabilizers to stop the mood swings? Tranquillizers to lessen the effect? I can't see SSRIs helping but maybe they can. What have you decided? Other than that it is a condition controlling you and you need help. There are quite a few forms of CBT, will none help? Even as an adjunct to the meds. I'm looking into this as I'm not real familiar with it. If you can't decide what to do with it I will talk to my therapist as soon as she can find time for me. At the expense of playing doctor I would be considering taking a course of valium or something like it to clear the air so I could think straight and read every thing on it. And then find some one to compare notes with to be sure this really is what I had. Two heads,(three, four) are better than one.
That is what I would do if I could not see my therapist but luckily I can see her, it just takes time to fit me in some times.
I believe you are not jumping to conclusions and have some basis for your diagnosis and I will admit I did notice the difference but since you are not on often enough it didn't ring any bells.
I'm here to help you research this if you would like or just for support till you can talk to the pro's.

i don't know if this is going to help me at all but I am in between counselors and have no help or support right now. so it cant hurt to reach out here. most of you don't know me. i stopped posting when i got stuck with CBT not being the right thing for me. since i am just fumbling around trying to figure out how to improve my health on my own, a lot of cBT worked for me but exposure didnt.

i got stuck with CBT at the part where you do exposure work. i couldn't figure out why but now i know it is because i suffer emotional dysregulation. no, i have not seen a competant psychiatrist yet so no, i have no dianogisis. i have a reasonable suspician that i have something in addition to anxiety - which i also have never been diagnosed with.
actually i am wondering if it is common not to get any diagnosis or have I just run into extremely bad luck with getting help? i have had 2 doctors and 1 psychiatrist (one appt. they were awful) and several counselors who tell. me basically i will be "fine". I can't believe how much I paid to be told that.

So CBT wasn't exactly what I needed due to emotional dysregulation throwing a wrench in the progress i could attain. any ideas where to find more resources or help? i am getting desperate for help and i believe i deserve good help but believing that doesn't make it so.

I can't find a good counselor or doctor who will take time with me. is this all there is?
