Omega 111 Fatty Acids are excellent and I have been on them for a long time and felt fantastic. Recently, I got tired of swallowing the horse sized pill and stopped taking it and I can tell the difference. So, I've put them on my grocery list and will start taking them again. I think it comes in liquid, to avoid the giant pill :)
I looked up the age, height to weight ratio to find my ideal weight range and I'm working on losing 20 lbs. and possibly 5 additional ones when I reach that goal. I take a multi vitamin, vitamin C, vitamin E, B-complex, vitamin D/calcium and Fish oil. I ride my stationary bike for 10 minutes in the morning, followed by 20 minutes of core strengthening yoga (written by a physical therapist). I've read too many diet books, but I've found one that is flexible and that I can tailor to my needs. It covers the basics on healthy eating and is more about counting carbs than calories. It gives you positive coping strategies if you feel like you're going to quit and allows for adjustments if you feel weak or dizzy or the plan is difficult for your body to adjust. It seems well balanced and covers all of the bases, including maintaining your weight after you've reached your weight loss goal. You can take the weight off faster or slower depending on what you're more comfortable doing.
To relate it to anxiety, caffeine and sugar can enhance anxiety (I was addicted to both), it can also alter your mood into feeling bad and give your body a crash when it leaves your system. So, why do it. I've decided to use food to fuel my body, get healthier in body and mood, and stave off the middle age issues of borderline high blood pressure, possible heart issues, strokes, etc.
The key is focusing on the positive which is health and doing better, NOT on dieting. I've written down a strategy of the reasons why I am doing this and I've written down positive alternate things I can do when I want to eat for reasons other than hunger. I'm Italian and the motto is: "Eat, it will make you feel better." If I can overcome anxiety or manage it and get rid of panic attacks altogether, than I can do this as well. It may not be easy, but hard work is underestimated in most things that are worth while.
