How to get past physical restlessness?

kct,

Please know that we can not give medical advice but we do suggest that you contact your physician and pharmacist to assist with anything out of the ordinary.

Doing stretches and walking can get rid of that added extra energy, so that you are calm enough to sleep.

Let us know what works for you!

That is really a question for your Doctor. But if he has also prescribed a Benzo, some of us will use it for restless leg and hand twitches. Propranolol is good for restless muscles. It is a beta blocker and Prescription only. Some times I twitch so bad that I can't type and I'm not on any SSRI.

Welcome by the way.

I recently started Zoloft for my anxiety and I've been increasingly restless since I upped the dose this Saturday. My legs are constantly bouncing, I keep shaking my hands, I feel like I can't sit down, and I feel like I really want to tense my muscles, but I can never tense them enough to feel satisfied. I was going to meditate or do some sort of relaxation thing, but I'm so very tired and I don't want to fall asleep! How can I subdue the restless feeling so I can sit down and work on homework without getting distracted by the feeling in my body?
