Davit, Anger doesn't have to be "so destructive". Any time there is injustice, one has the reason to reply with justified anger, or "assertion".

This is interesting. First there seems to be no chemical imbalance reason for anger. No pill to fix this other than benzo's :-)

One of the treatments for anger is learning to be assertive when you are angry but not aggressive. You say you don't do anger. But if you are not assertive how can you express what is making you mad. You don't get release then. We are taught to let anxiety and panic happen to get them over with yet not anger. Why not let it happen if it can be done in an assertive not aggressive manor. This is where CBT comes in and it is one of the tools used to learn how to be assertive without spilling over into aggression.

The other treatment was various ways of doing what I said about passing anger through sad (they said some emotion) to convert it. I find "sad" to be the easiest since it is hard to go from a negative to a positive.

Also suppression only increases the anger.

The final thing was challenging anger to see if it was justifiable.

Davit. Who is now going to fill his face and get something physical done. (maybe)

Anger is so destructive. I will do anything I can to help you with this. More questions for my therapist. When I get enough for an hour I will make another appointment. In the meantime anger gives me something to study and add to my knowledge bank. I will benefit from this with my own anger. We all could.

Davit... I felt ashamed reading your post. and then just wanted to leave (avoidance) but came back to respond (wanting to stop the cycle). I wrote a long post. I guess it had too much anger inappropriately expressed because it disappeared. I'm going back to focusing on the thought records and see if I can get myself untangled. i feel tired and sad and overloaded with information. but i'm still here and do appreciate your feedback...

We only get one fall colour, yellow. Even our little maples are only yellow, some bushes turn orange. A bit better than half the trees are turned now. Nice contrast with the evergreens.
In the 30s most of the valley was burnt from forest fires so in the fall large sections of the Mountains turn yellow. The snow is working it's way down the mountains too. (Rocky Mts. one side Cariboo, the other side) Winter is a ways away but the snow is a reminder that it is coming.
Heavy fog hanging in the trees too, adds to the beauty. Just need a few deer to add to the picture.
Do I have positive attitude or what. Who else could get excited about a cold dreary wet day.
It does make life easier though and I do really feel this way, it is not forced.

Hi Red,

So nice to hear from you.  Let us know how you feel going through the sessions in the DC center.  Have you made any new realizations about yourself?  your emotions?
How do you typically deal with feelings of anger?

Davit,
Fall colours must be stunning where you are - would love to see some pics!

Be well,

Quiet here today, but then it is the weekend.
Another month gone, winter on its way and I'm coming up on two years here. (site) I don't know what to think about that. Slowing down now, (at home) all the important stuff is done. Might not rain today so I might get the outside stuff done and then I can hibernate. I wish :-)
Having a very wet fall, pretty but wet.

I am going to go read some sessions in the depression center again..I think a refresher would be a good idea at this point before it gets out of hand..Depression and anger seem to bed fellows for me at the moment..

See ya later...

Hi Davit,

Still hanging in here..Just hit a bit of a rough patch lately..It sure isn't good when the other guy has a bigger stick that for sure..

I have been coming here and reading posts pretty regularly..Sound like you are getting a lot done here and around your place.

Talk to you again soon,

Red...
