I feel most alive at the beach, I love being there, just relaxing and watching my twins build sand castles, the beach is very calming!  With my husbands work schedule, don't get there very much.

I see there are a bunch of people I don't know reading. So let me invite them to join me here. As you can see I don't bite, infact I think I'm quite friendly. We all are.

Good point Ashley. Sometimes I forgot who I am and associate anxiety with my personality (wrongly, a cognitive distortion, I know :)) .

Since 7 years ago I stooped more or less doing things I enjoyed, I things started getting worse because of this. But before that I enjoyed meeting new people to share the blessings of life with them. I spent more time with friends and travel with them. I had pleasure in my work and had good plans for the future. I had an active social life and attended many events, went to concerts, etc.

Because of this I felt more alive and didn't pay attention to my mood swings having a more balanced life.

Good quistion...
I too love nature,as i am getting back into my walking, and i hear the birds singing, morning sun on my face, smell of pine trees, flowers, fresh cut grass, that makes my day!!!
I do love to talk as today i stoped in an seen a neighbor, to see how he was doing as he lost his wife last year, and we sat on his deck, and talked,he showed me his paintings..i was shocked!!
I didnt know he painted such beautiful paintings!
He also gave me fresh lettuce from his garden..that was such a nice visit!
I also like to read, have quiet time, sit on my own deck, watch the deer come into my yard and eat, as i do set out things for them..i also have a wild racoon that ive seen this week too, lots of rabbits and squrrels too..
I like to learn about and read about healthy life styles,as i am all about holistics..
So,thats me..down to earth person..
When i was younger,i loved to ride horses,go to the mountians,go down curant rivers!!!

Ashley.

I can't give you that but I am second most alive doing anything outdoors wether it is gardening or just sitting. I like driving back roads. I prefer it if the sun is shining but it doesn't have to.
Two things make me tick. Conversation with some one I really like and Silence, alone or with some one I really like.
What is it like? It is what you make it. It can be fantastic. EG. today I am weeding in the sun with a slight breeze to keep the mosquitoes away and birds are singing. I'm looking around and enjoying the day and not thinking about weeding. It is fantastic. This is not a chore for me.

Hello!

Most of our discussion on the support group focus on anxiety.  This is a good thing as this is what the support group is here for, but it is also nice to talk about what makes each and everyone of us tick. After all, you are not your anxiety!  You are a unique and incredible individual who has a lot to share and we want to get to know you!  We want to know what makes you want to get well. We want to know what you are like if anxiety is not an issue.  So every once in awhile I will be posting getting to know you questions in order so we can get to know the wonderful members of our group; new and old!

For our first question...

When do you feel most alive? Where are you? What are you doing? And What is it like?
