Hi Josie:  Yes, I write poetry - very good way of expressing self.  I used to sketch a lot, go off by myself and sketch outdoors.  I find anything which is creative a form of release for me.  It seems to be fulfilling at the same time.
I think I mentioned before on the site about being blindfolded and making a mask of yourself from clay.  What do you think you look like?  You don't have to be an artist, very interesting results.

Drivin-N-cryin:  Welcome to the site.  You know, I did drive and cry a few times.  It was awful - couldn't see where I was going! haha.  I can laugh now but at the time it wasn't so funny.
Glad you found us.  We are a caring bunch here, pls. post anything, you can rant and cry on our shoulders.  Collectively speaking, we've been through a lot, so someone reading the post will understand and answer.  I hope you do the CBT program all the way through and especially do the homework.  Work at your own pace, go over a session if you need to, doesn't matter.  Very important to chart your triggers, get to know yourself and see your progress.  I find the relaxation techniques the best for me to get centred again, to stop the mind from all the "what ifs and catastrophic thinking patterns".  Changing negative thinking to positive thinking is what it is all about.  Keep the faith and believe.

I'm very glad to have found this site! Please forgive the fact that I don't have all the "ins and outs" down, as this is my first post. I am SO excited to be able to share with these members what I have and still are experiencing with anxiety. Thank you all for having the courage to share with me, as well. I look forward to working through this program.

Members,

Often times it can be very difficult to express ourselves out loud to ourselves or to a therapist. For this reason, some therapies are not focused on using creativity for personal expression. Art therapy can include:

·         Journaling

·         Painting

·         Water colors

·         Clay

·         Knitting or needlepoint

·         Sketching

·         Writing

·         Poetry

·         Drawing cartoons

·         Learning to play a musical instrument

·         Theatre

·         Dance classes

·         Crafting

·         Sewing

·         Composing music

·         Making a movie

·         Photography

·         Graphic Design

·         Fashion Design

Have any members had a positive experience expressing themselves creatively?
