Expressing yourself creatively, Part I

In response to Josie's Thread, yes I do enjoy art therapy and like to express myself with my crochet and also quilting..Art therapy helps me relax my mind....I also like to grow roses and flowers in my yard and think of it as my canvas...When I am crocheting or quilting I am able to express myself with patterns and color..The sky is the limit when it comes to expressing yourself in a artistic form...It is your own unique way of expressing yourself. Hi Eleveno,
Found my camera so hopefully I'll figure out how to post a pic

As husg4U suggested it would be nice to post some pictures from time to time. I will try to post at least one picture per week (a picture with some meaning if possible)

Hello Davit. I am just curious. What is the program that you use for touch up photography?

Journalling probably did more for me than anything. It brought to the front things I have kept buried for far too long. If you keep track of things that bother you while creating it can show you hidden triggers and core beliefs. I found things about me that I did not like during tool selection and wood work that have nothing to do with either, but have a lot to do with attitude and attitude has a lot to do with anxiety. So now I am repairing.

I love photography but am lousy at it. Thankfully I have a touch up program in my computer that fixes all but the worst messes. Another form of creativity.

I hope you enjoy yourself. I'm old enough to remember pre digital cameras. Light meters and different films. So much better now.

Davit.

I may have to change my user name to "scatterbrain" since I can't find the camera I was given for Christmas, just as I found a course on photography that I was going to register for

Eleveno,
One other way phtography helps is with showing how I've improved.  I can take pics to the doc, after planning something like the garden before I do a bit of work, and get the satisfaction(and proof) that I'm getting somewhere.  This helps fight negative thoughts.

Eleveno,
I'd like to try photography too.  My struggle with perfectionism prevents me from making commitments until the last minute.
Last night, while in a home renovation course, I gave the course outline in our night school calendar to a colleague.  Today, I'm getting over being unwell for a couple of days, so the cooking courses, like other courses which were posted for days, fill up quickly.

Maybe you can post some pictures occasionally?  I'd feel braver about taking the course on photography.  To give myself the benefit of the doubt, I don't understand the differences in the types of cameras, either.  I can call a friend for help though.

Hello. Recently I found that journaling was wonderful for my anxiety and depression (including posting here on this wonderful forum). Last year I bought a good camera and I will also dedicate some time for photography. I never considered these activities as expressing myself creatively, but now I know that they are good for improving my emotions.
