Shari.. Just a little thank you note thanking your for sharing your beautiful bouquet with me for Mothers Day..This is so very sweet. I just received a beautiful mothers card from my son today..He called and we talked and talked on the phone the other day.We haven't done that in a long long time. It seems as we are both growing older we are getting closer than we have in a long time. We seem to understand each better now..Now that is almost 42 and I am almost 59 we are really closer in age the we have ever been. I have to agree with you we sure do love them, miss them and think of them often while they are away especially on mothers day.. Happy Mothers Day from me to you too on this very special day..

Forever friends...

Red, I will say high for you when I talk to Sunny. She went back to Ontario last week so I will be gardening by myself for a while. Winters here can be long and she really missed her grandkids. I didn't want to go so now we are separated. I just could not leave my home. I'd have to leave behind all my tools, pets and gardening to live in an apartment. That just would not work. I intend to die face down in My garden and everyone including her knows that.
If you love someone, let them go. If they don't come back they were never yours. Family is very important to her. Her dog and my cats did not get along either. Better to part as friends before we got on each others nerves. Her dog was already doing that to me and she is allergic to my cats.

Some things are not meant to be. And yes it is fine with me. I'm good at being alone. Too good maybe as My therapist would say. She is welcome back anytime but she did say she would not bring the dog. Living in a divided house doesn't work. We actually had a door separating the dog and cats. Theodore is a big cat and he would gladly fight her. (the dog)
So as of yesterday she is back among family in time for Mothers Day. I wish her well.

Last year on May 26 I had surgery for a perforated ulcer, then it got infected and had to be redone. By then it was so bad stitches wouldn't hold. They literally cut out inches of muscle and threw it away. I was held together by retention sutures.
that went in one side of me and came out the other. So where is this going? I healed with the help of St. Jude and a lot of determination. Here I am back digging in the dirt like nothing happened, minus some muscle mass but functional. I have a very wide shiny scar to show for it, nothing else. I had to grow back about 2 inches of muscle and skin. Skin mostly so I now have a lopsided six pack. It doesn't matter, I never intended to be handsome, just handy.

I hope you heal as well as I did so you can get back to doing what you love. I think that is what kept me going.
My favourite roses are yours, they look so much nicer than mine. I try, in the end that is all we can do.

Hi Red,

I felt the same way today and your post lifted me up and made me feel connected too.  I'll share my Mother's Day bouquet with you :-)

P.S.  Have you seen the British Sitcom, "Keeping Up Appearances"?  Hyacinth's last name is Bucket, but she pretends to be a socialite and demands that everyone pronounces it, "Bouquet" :-)  That always comes to mind when I get a bouquet of flowers, or should I say bucket of flowers - ha ha.

Hello Davit.

So nice to hear from you. It Sounds like you and Sunny have been real busy. I read a while back about them selling you a bogus tractor and passing it off as something larger. Good for you for sticking to your guns and getting them to work on sending you the one you were supposed to have. I hope you get it soon so you can keep on track..I am looking forward to picture of You and Sunny garden soon
As for the roses yellow is my favorite I think, of course I have been know to change my mind one or twice too. I hired gardeners last year after my surgery and they pretty much killed all my lily of the nile and the roses were overgrown and to big for the narrow beds so I kind of lot it one day and we dug everything out and started all over again. It was tough going too, because of all the abdominal surgery I had last year and things not being liked the were before it..

I don't know if I mentioned it but I spend the first week of January in the hospital again with abdominal issues. I am still kind of on the mend and have to be careful now with a little hernias since last years surgery. The have given me hyoscyamine to take if I need to. It calm things down and reliefs my pain..There are not sure why I got so deadly sick..Anyway staying calm helps the most..As with all things I guess..

It is so good to hear that you seem to be getting a handle on your staph infection with some new meds and are enjoying your life and gardening again..

Finally in answer to your question about camping. I know with this long winded post it took me forever to get to it.. Yes we did go to the desert hot springs to camp again this year for a few days but had to return for a Doctors appt. and than later right after I got out of the hospital again in January we went to the tractor and farm engine show in Yuma Arizona that Ed shows in. The engine club is starting to fizzle out now that so many members have gotten older and passed on..Many were in the late eighty's so we probably will not go next year. We would like to travel north but the traffic has gotten so bad now that traveling to northern California very difficult now. I think will probably just try to relax here at home for now..So I guess that's about it..Oh ya! our veges are doing great..So we don't want to travel and leave them anyway now.

Well I guess I better go now..Say Hi to Sunny..I will be looking for a pic's of your flower and garden..So don't forget..

I was feeling a little down today but not now..It was great listening and talking to you again..

Thank you Red.

I just read your post and got emotional.  Happy tears.  Your kind words mean everything to me.  I appreciate you so much. I just wanted to let you know that I pray for you and everyone on the site every morning.  I think I just needed to know someone cares and I know you do and I know everyone here does too.  It's good to hear it sometimes.  I am thankful.  My daughter is moving on Aug. 1st, either to NYC, before going to CA, or she's going straight to CA.  She hasn't decided yet. I'm okay with her going.  I've had enough time to over come empty nest syndrome.  Still short on "in person" friends, that's why my friendships here are so important to me.  You all are here whenever I need you.  So, I feel connected, like we are all family.  Thank goodness for that.  Well, bless you and enjoy your day.  You are important to me and you've made a difference in my life.

Your Friend, Shari

Hello Red

Coffee break time. I got up very early this morning so I could work before it gets hot again. We might actually get some rain tomorrow. Not probably what you are used to but hot enough to burn. I have some yellow roses to put out in a new flower bed. They don't get very big. I also have some other plants but I'll be guessing when I put them out. Sunny told me what they are and where to plant them but I'll be damned if I can remember. If they are in the wrong place I'll move them.
Going to town today to buy some flowers to stick out for colour. Humming birds are back and emptying the feeder every day now.

I bought a new used tractor to till my garden with but the decals are wrong on it. It is smaller, too small to run the tiller. I'm waiting for the dealer to bring me a bigger one and take this one back. I'm trying not to be upset. My garden is on hold till I can till it. I have a two cylinder Johnny Popper but it is too small. It is my tractor for mowing. Idling, it pops like a hit and miss motor. I love that sound.

My climbing rose has one tiny shoot coming, it is the closest to a real rose as we can get here. It may not make it. I'll buy another and try again.

On the medical side. I talked a Doctor into low dose Keflex for my Staph infection and after a year on it I seem to be free. My white cell count has been going down one point each month. We will see what happens when I stop taking it. I've had Staph infection off and on (mostly on) for going on ten years now, ever since my first knee replacement. I'm in better shape than I have been in years. Still it took me three days to plant some corn and a lot of potatoes. Worth it though.

Have you been able to go camping?

Stay healthy

Davit.

Hi Red!

Great to hear from you!

I had a few health issues going on and I went to Patient First, by myself, and had the works done.  I was referred to a Cardiologist and an Orthopedist.  Long story short.  New update on Cardiologist follow up:  He said my heart is as good as the day I was born and that my chance of a heart attack in my lifetime is zero.  And, my diagnosis is that I'm going to live forever.  My Grandpa lived till he was 102, so I'm shooting for 101, why not :-)  My cholesterol is perfect, so I'm to thank my parents for their good genes.  It turns out the racing heart, pulse and elevated blood pressure was from my body not being able to manage back pain.  I was able to take 1 and 3/4 Percocet over a two day period and it broke the pain cycle and my heart rate, pulse and BP went back to 100% normal.  All 3 doctors verified that I have anemia (due to menopause issues), so I am taking iron pills daily.  Anemia causes muscle pain which may also contribute to the back problem and it causes a tired feeling which can make you feel shaky and anxious along with dizziness.  But, I haven't had the latter.  I tell myself I'm getting better every day and I am.  I'm speaking the solution, not the problem.  Staying positive makes it better.  I also am getting 40 minute deep tissue massages for my back, to repair, and then maintain the muscles as a preventive measure which is worth a pound of cure.  I do that once a week.  I've also started a new hobby.  Collecting ceramic dog figurines that are Made in Japan (1921-1941) and Made in Occupied Japan (1952).  It's really fun!  It's a treasure hunt. And, it's the perfect way for me to have as many dogs as I want without Vet bills :-)  I look forward to it every weekend. Thanks for stopping by Red, I miss you and I'm glad you are well.  You continue to be inspiring.
