feeling hopeless

Thanks everyone for the tremendous support.

Looking back to the last time I wrote in this forum - it was exactly a month ago.  I'm wondering if my depression/anxiety gets alot worse around the time of me period.  I currently have my period - coincidently started the 11-12th.  I'm going to start tracking it monthly.  it's also been 2 months since I decreased my effexor and increased my cipralex.  I really wonder if these drugs are helping in any way at all.  I just recently started seeing a specialist who does hypnotherapy.  We shall see.

By the way, Go vancouver canucks go!

P.S. doesn't help that this week I've had to see so many patients with psychiatric problems in the hospital.  it's triggering me for sure.

JD,

I see so much greatness in you!

First, you’re reaching out to a group of supportive people.

Secondly, an academic institution has agreed to include you in their program at a post-graduate level.

Third, your health allows you to perform something at an advanced fitness level.

Fourth, your depression does pass and you don’t always feel bad.

There are some high energy forum men, slightly older than you, on this forum like Canadian Guy & Wrestler, who are similar to you in that they are struggling, if you watch them persevere and get a jolt of encouragement, along with the CBT program, when you can squeeze that in.

Your mind and body are preparing for a productive fall academic trial, so don’t sweat the single days you crash, since you’ve prepared all your life for the masters program.

Not only are we behind you, but there and young men and women overseas fighting for our liberty and choices and safety. Those service men and women want you to fulfill your career too, since they have chosen a different road.

I know that being tired can really make things worse so hopefully you feel better after you get a lot of sleep. Lately when I'm fatigued I find my head gets fuzzy.

Hi Just Ducky,
Ok....I'm no expert on depression..but Holy Moly...you ran 20 miles? All at one time? You should be so proud and happy with that huge accomplishment..I'm proud and happy for you!! My hubby ran over the Golden Gate bridge last week..we were both so excited and proud....let yourself enjoy this accomplishment..revel in it...you deserve it..unless of course you usually run 50 miles and you slacked off! hahaha
And you  are super- smart....a Masters program? Wow! Another huge success and indicator of your amazing person..an athlete and scholar!!! What amazing feats....
So there....I'm in awe of you.....even if you're not....yet! I'm glad to read that you don't always feel bad....let that be your hope and you will get better! Believe!!
I'm tired just thinking about running 20 miles!!

Hi Justducky,

Sounds like you have a lot on your mind. No wonder you are feeling tired and out of sorts. Be gentle with yourself. In these times, and I'm sure you've had them before and coped successfully, what do you find helps? Have you been doing CBT? It seems to me that you are doing very well in the big picture!

As Davit says, we are here for you. Keep running- that is great for body, mind and spirit!

Hi justducky,

I'm wondering what the block is that is keeping you from getting better. I would think it is probably a pretty strong core belief, any idea what it is. Any reason you should feel hopeless since you are obviously not. Anything maybe as far back as your child hood that could make you feel this way. I traced my negative core belief all the way back to when I was about three.

If it isn't that then it has to be a chemical deficiency or a malfunction in how you use it. Sounds like it could be this if as you say some times you are okay.

Still it is good to see you are still with us.

Here for you,
Davit.

Hi everyone,
I haven't wrote in the forum for a few weeks.  I feel exhausted and hopeless today.  I did got for a 20mile run yesterday so maybe my physical exhaustion is making me mentally tired today - ?could this be.  I'm finding it so hard to concentrate - my mind is wandering off and just blanks, spaces right out.  As some of you know i was recently accepted to do a masters program in Toronto.  I accepted the offer and start in Septemeber.  I'm second guessing moving because my anxiety and depression has not gotten any better over the past year - in my opinion.  If anything, as it doesn't improve... i start to feel more hopeless.  It does pass though, I don't always feel bad.

thoughts....

p.s.  scared one day I'll wake up and not get out of bed all day
