Davit,

I tried to leave you a post earlier but the web site went down on me before I could post it..Anyway!!!
I am sorry to hear that your tests came back elevated..I hope that the doctors find a combination of antibiotics that rid you of this horrible staph infection. I am also sorry to hear you are in so much physical pain but glad to hear you are walking..You have been a real trooper through out this whole ordeal..I am so proud of you..On a happier note I am sure you will be out in your green house soon, doing what you love..I am looking forward to hearing all about it...

Red,

It could be the Hydroclorothiazide in the Hyzar that is the problem, It is potassium wasting and does not go with my arthritis medication. Cozar doesn't have it and doesn't make me anxious but I only take 25 mg. Hydroclorothiazide is the Diuretic half.

My test was even higher but I feel fine, I will retest on Tuesday. What appears to be happening is that the infection is living on the metal parts of my knees and living on the fluid in the joints. There is no blood flow so I can not get antibiotic into them. When they escape, they escape into the muscles around the knees, which do have blood flow so the antibiotic can reach them. But it can take a while. The plan is to starve them by long term low dose antibiotics, the same as I do for my arthritis only for it, it is a different antibiotic. All that happens when they escape is the muscles don't work. I can't move my legs in any semblance of normal. I tend to fall down, forcing the muscles to work hurts. I'm walking okay again, just not as well as I'd like. ( I want in my green house) :-)

Triamterene is a potassium sparing diuretic but I can't take it either. I can take lasix but it is meant to be short term. Lol, I said atenolol has no side effects, actually it can cause weird dreams, (mild) and easy tiring. Usually Ace inhibiters are tried before drugs in the Hyzar class.
Some drugs you have to make sure you don't overheat.

I'm sure the Doc will find something that works.

Your friend too.

Davit,

Thanks for the info..I was taking Hyzar this last time..Lot of gastric upsets for me. Plus this one can cause anxiety, panic and depression so it is probably that I am off of it anyway..I am sure they will find one for me..It does seem as if the cure can be worst than the ailment if you know what I mean..Anyway I am glad I am getting over this last bad reaction and I am in no rush to go back to the doctor just yet...Enough about me how did it go today with your tests today?

I know that sunny has had to try different medication before finding what works and so have I.
I can not take Calcium channel blockers because they are extremely constipating to me yet my brother has no problem He also can take Hyzar, but I have to take Cozar, the same medication without the diuretic in it. I can not take Ace inhibiters either because of adverse reaction to them.
Same as my beta blocker. Propranolol doesn't do enough, Metropolol gives me a bad reaction yet atenolol is fine with no side effects. Yet some people can not take Atenolol. I also found Atenolol doesn't work as well for anxiety. Now you will notice I quote four different classes of medication and you can see that in the same class you can have one you can't take and usually one you can. There is one other class of medication I have not tried. It is for softening
blood vessel walls to keep pressure down.

There are good programs that can give you Drug reactions and inter reactions plus side effects. A lot of doctors have this information on a palm pal.

Here for you,
Davit.

Yesterday turned out to be a very nice day for me.. I had a bad reaction to some new meds I started the night before but I did not panic..I waited till morning called the doctor and was taken off my new bp meds and will see the doctor when I get over the bad reaction..My son also called from work yesterday and it was nice to hear his voice again, he is a first responder and firefighter and decided to give me a call in between calls..He talked I listened and we got all caught up. He had to go when his alarm sounded and off he went into the night to help save another life.
.It was a good day and I finally got a good nights sleep last night with pleasant dreams of quilting and such...No nightmares, no anxiety, no panic, no pain....

Davit,

You definitely have made it a long way on your journey.  Being at appointments all day and dealing with all the doctors and nurses plus having a chronic health condition. You are inspiring to us all thats for sure..I will be thinking of you today as you go through another round of test.
I am so happy that you had a nice St. Patricks day with your friend and her hyper little dog..It really is great that you have such a sweet orange friend and that you can care and help each other and celebrate together..Of course this is very understandable because you are such a sweet orange yourself..

Hi everyone:  My two cents re: anxiety building up to panic.  Yes, I think so.  For me, it used to feel like an electrical panel which can take so much then felt like overload and boom, the panic attack.  That's why good sleep and rest is important and good nutrition for your body.  It needs healing.  Be kind to yourself, take good care of yourself, be patient while you are healing physically.  Being anxious and having panic attacks really takes a lot out of you and can't be restored over night.   Pamper yourself for awhile.

Hello Davit:  So sorry to hear of your health concerns. I bet it takes a lot of courage and discipline to go through what you are going through.  Give yourself a big pat on the back. It's so nice of you to be helping others out, not only on the site but your home too.  Passing on our knowledge of the program and helping someone else is a great review for ourselves and practice too.  I had mentioned before about a lady who comes to my house every wk. to go over the program.  We are finished now and she is so much better.  And what's nice about it is that she will pass on her knowledge to someone in the future.
You lucky man! to have a sweetie who cares for you, and I should also say, lucky girl! to love and be loved by such a nice guy as you!

Your friend, Sunny
