Juanita,

I loved reading your post today. I am so impressed with all you have accomplished in this last year and I am so happy for you.  You have got me thinking about trying something a little more challenging in the way of exposure...I don't know what yet but the thought of it is very exciting...

Juanita

I am so happy for you. This is just another bridge to cross and you know you can do that. And in case you forget remember I said you can.

Bravo Juanita!  How exciting and wonderful news.  So proud of you and I bet hubby is proud too.  I bet you'll be awesome for the clients as you are a caring person, have a great sense of humour too.  You will put your clients at ease right away. So happy for you.  Upwards and onwards!  Congratulations.

Hi Everyone,
This past year has been full of changes for me, having found the program, and started seeing a doctor, and trying a SSRI. But now I'm starting another change... a big one. So it may end up in the Success Story or the Setback one..too early to tell..ha
anyhow, I have a friend who is a Foot Care nurse, (Iam too) everytime I used to complain about my job she'd offer me clients and to  teach me how to run my own little business. I always shrugged it off, thinking I could never do that. ...well, after this latest fight with my unreasonable employers it came to me, why not? I called her... and I'm almost all set. Just need business cards..Scary!!
I started thinking that the only thing holding me back was fear. Fear of the unknown...
So here I  am, alone, its 3 weeks now that hubby's been gone, only around 180 more days..ha....but whose counting?
I'm staying on  at  the nursing home casually, and am starting next week at a FC  clinic.
So wish me luck...life is all about changes isn't it?
I have to mention Hubby, since he's all for it, and is behind me 100%. I feel for you who have such diffficulties with your partners. I am blessed in that way. I wish we all were.

finding it really hard to be around dh growing negativity and anger... trying to make my changes and let him have his reactions and not get flustered or discouraged.  but i do. i am. and when I get that way the fear trickles in.  i forget how to stop it.

This a great topic that I think we can all relate to..Change and Fear of the unknown can be very paralyzing at times.  When it comes to family I really do not talk to them about the changes I am planning or going through..I do talk to my partner because he understands me, he listens, we are able to discuss our life changes. The pro and cons.. So I find that for me if I talk to people that are positive, encouraging and supportive lives changes are easier for me to deal with...This is the best way for me to stay positive. Negative thoughts out Positive thought in...Replacing the negative with positive but still being realistic at the same time...

Hi Members,

Let's talk about change. Have you heard the old adage: the devil you know is better than the devil you don't? Has that idea ever factored into your decision to avoid making changes to your lifestyle, or more specifically, the issue you are dealing with on this site? Also, there is the fear of failure when you make big changes to your life. The pressure of fear can prevent you from even taking the first step, or perhaps 'allow' you to give up at the first challenge so as to relieve that pressure. Then there are friends and family and everyone else that you tell about your impending change. How they respond can make a difference to how you perceive the change and/or your ability to make it happen successfully!

Feel free to share your stories about how you have dealt with your desire to change, successes and challenges.
