I don't have a lot of trouble with the holidays. I still do most of the baking I used to. But now I roast a cornish hen instead of a turkey. I still drive around and look at lights if it is not too cold. I probably won't put up a tree this year. Or if I do it will be an artificial one.
I'm not sure who gave me the prayer in my profile but I like it so I put it up, It may not even be readable that small :-) Might have been some one from the site even.
Be realistic. It’s important to understand that
families grow and things change. It may not always be possible to keep
traditions exactly as they were. Accept that you may need to start new
rituals and find new ways to make the holidays fun and enjoyable for
yourself and others. If families can’t meet like previous year, be
creative and take plenty of pictures and videos. Your memories will
last a lifetime
Set differences aside. Try to understand that family
members will have differences and these differences may creep up with
the stresses of the holiday season. Keep conversations light and avoid
stressful topics until a more appropriate time. The holidays is a time
to be accepting, understanding and forgiving.
