Davit,

I had a nice day out yesterday.  A little self care and a break from it all was needed.  When I came home I read up some more on your topic of vicarious traumatisation.  I now have the time to comment on it.  This is something that I do not talk about much here on the site, it really kind of stirs it all up and I do not want anyone to be hurt by what I have experienced.  This is not a burden they need to carry, or have ruin their lives.  Anyway vicarious tramatisation is something I do struggle with.  Like my father who was a first responder and my son who is a first responder. For me it was being a private duty
home health aid/Nurses aid working with the terminally ill and the close contact I has as a 24/hr caregiver to my husband who suffered with ptsd from the war and dementia. Their really was no escaping it. We went though it alone here.  It was a long hard 5 yrs for the two of us. Yes I did pick up on and feel it all with him.  That is all I can say about it here.  There was also some counter transference involved with it.  I know it will never leave me totally and I am dealing with it and I am getting better.  The self care and relaxation that they talk about here in the program is crucial for me now and I do think you need to have some boundaries when dealing with people who have been traumatized. If you are going to be here reading and answering posts all the time you need to take time to relax and do some things you enjoy and give your mind a break from it all. I personally can not be here reading and answering posts all the time anymore.  I have to set some boundaries in my life and take sometime for myself to let my mind relax and heal. Having a life away from this and the trauma is something that is very important to the healing process.  So that is what I am trying to do now on my road to recovery and something you may want to consider if it is beginning to take toll on you.  I just say this because I know you have some serious health problems right now and your mind and body needs time to rest and heal.  Take the time to take care of yourself Davit.  I do care about you.

Davit,

I looked it up, I read it, thought about it, understand it, and have now moved on with my life.  Got to go now I have a relaxing adventure planned for the rest of the day.  You can read all about it in my blog if you want to.

I was thinking about something you mentioned many many posts back and all you have been through. If you get time look up vicarious traumatisation on wickapedia. Please let me know what you think if you do read it.

Hi Red:   It's hard to read posts sometimes, isn't it?  Some of the posts I read over a couple of times to make sure I've understood what the message is. We luv ya, Sunny

Everyone;
I am sorry I guess I misunderstood what you were saying Cleo.  Yes there are lots of scary bugs in the desert I can see why you wouldn't like it there.  Sunny thanks for pointing this out to me.  I am so sorry for being overly sensitive everyone please forgive me.

Hi Red:  Thanks for the pic.  It's gorgeous.  My brother once sent me a postcard depicting all the different cacti of the area.  I still have it.  Love it.  Thanks for the tip re: checking your blog for photo explanation.  You are a good photographer.  I'm afraid I can't seem to focus - I can't see properly even with my reading glasses on.  Maybe I need a better camera too.

I don't think Cleo meant to be negative, only stating that she thought it was a lake pic, not a desert pic and so was confused about which it was, and that she wasn't too keen on snakes and scorpions.  Well, we can sort of understand that eh?  I'm not too keen on those big tarantulas, lol.  At the end she wrote "someday to go to a desert" which I thought meant that she'd like to try it and experience it in the future.

David,
I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying.  I am not saying that we can not post about negative things and only positive things.  I have posted about many negative things that I am feeling here on the site. I am just saying that if someone has something thing positive to say or something positive that they like to do to relax than why look for the negative in it?  Why try to turn there positive thoughts into a negative thoughts?  I like the desert and find beauty in it that does not mean everyone has to like the desert or see beauty in it... Everyone has a right to there own view of the world and the things in it.  I just choose to try to see the beauty in the world and my surroundings. I am just trying to share this beauty with everyone here when I put up a new avatar. As for where to post I am not telling people where to post.  I myself post things about my avatar under my blog because I have had my posts moved a few times because I posted in the wrong place. I have also had posts deleted because I violated the rules for posting. So I try to be careful about what I say and where I post it.  Thats all I am saying.  Hopefully this post doesn't get deleted too.

Here for you.

I don't think you meant to but you seem to be implying that we should not post negative things only possitive. I'm sorry but I want to help people so I need to see them when they are feeling negative also. As for the dessert, I'm glad you find peace there but I for one don't like it because of the temperature swings. Hot days and cold nights. But this is my right.
Lovely flower. I would rather have you post in the wrong thread and have the moderators move it than not post, It is hard enough getting people to post as it is for the very reason they are afraid of posting in the wrong thread. PEI is our fairy tale province. It is also our potato province because it is sandy. Southern Alberta has real desserts as does BC. I have been in both when it was hot without airconditioning in my truck so I never got to see it's beauty.

Good morning Sunny,
Nice to see you and thanks for the answer to my question about what PEI means.  I have seen the series on kpbs tv about Ann of Green Gables it is quite beautiful there.  In answer to your question about my picture. It too was taken at the Salton Sea on a different occasion.  This picture was taken during the largest full moon of the year and yes that is the sand glowing in the moonlight. My partner took these pictures, he has a gift with the camera when it comes to sunsets, sunrises, and moonlight.  The last picture I put up is a picture for you, a picture of cactus in bloom. This is one of mine.  Your wish is my command.  lol lol :)

When I put up a new picture I usually put up some information about the picture on my blog.  That way I do not get in trouble for posting on the wrong thread.  Our posts on supposed to be related to anxiety and cbt issues.  Of course this does fall under the thread on relaxation and lifestyle.  Anyway if you have a question about any of my avatars or pics click on it and there should be info on my blog. If not you can ask me a question or post a comment on my blog.  I hope you like the cactus.
Enjoy!!
Your Friend,
Red
