Myth or Fact?

I am trying to do something about that, I am writing a booklet that explains it for those who don't understand with the help and input of my therapist and it will be free to her to distribute. She has the knowledge, I have the time and it seems the writing skill. So maybe we can get people interested and knowledgeable. I'm thinking there is a need for something for employers also.
Right now she has it and is editing it for me and has already given me a few things that should be in it also. Considering the damage this condition does the only reason it is not a high priority is that it is curable. The drug companies who finance things medical can not make money off it.
That is how I see it, why kill the goose that lays golden eggs. I think the goose needs it's freedom.

Unfortunately, issues like anxiety and panic attacks certainly don't get the same recognition as conditions like other more physical illnesses. If I were to go to my employer and say I have diabetes, they would react with a compassion and understanding that you don't necessarily get if you go to them and say you suffer from panic attacks. It's always having to explain to people what it is that you're dealing with that gets frustrating to me.

Anxiety and panic attacks are acquired disorders, a condition and can be a part of mental disease but are not diseases in them self although they are as real as diabetes. They have one difference. They can be eradicated ( gone for good ) where as if you have diabetes you have it for life. Panic attacks and all there associated problems can certainly be cured.

Davit.

Ps just put this in so people don't think they have something they have to live with. They don't.

Myth: Anxiety disorders aren’t real illnesses.

Fact: Anxiety disorders are real and serious medical conditions, much like physical disorders such as diabetes or heart disease. They may develop from a complex set of biological or environmental risk factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and traumatic life events.
