Hi Anitra and a very warm welcome

Well Anitra you have found the right place to be I am sure you will benefit form this site its awesome.

I too am fairly new and have found some much needed relief in a relatively short period of time. This I put down to studying the program and reading and posting on the forums. I find an amazing energy here its electric, the community is great and we all help each other.

I think I can sort of relate to your problem. When I suffer a full blown attack its almost like I am rooted to the spot in intense fear then for a few seconds it gets quite dark and I feel really faint. Never passed out though. I also visited the Quacks but he could find nothing physically wrong, just put it down to stress, which some what irritated me.

For me cutting out caffiene, sweet things and a more balanced diet has alleviated some of the physical symptoms. I also added some B-vit complex and inositol supps to my diet recently which I find have really helped with physical and partial mental symptoms.

Not sure I have been much help to you, but I am sure the program, positive energies and support from the community will definitely bring you some comfort and relief.

Wishing you peace and happiness Sister, I know you will get to where you want be, we are all in this together.

Your new friend, Jas

Hello Anitra66:  Welcome to the forums and this site.  Read lots of past posts and you'll get a good glimpse and understanding of how far some have come already.  Mostly, you will read of the hope this program gives to everyone.

Anitra - Welcome!  I am currently working on session 7 and have been doing my homework along the way. It is all about small steps forward. It's not all easy but it definitely seems to work. Keep posting here as anything comes up for you - questions, frustrations, successes, etc. The support you get from these forums is, I've found, just as beneficial as the program itself! It sounds like you're already getting a more positive attitude, and that's great!

Thanks everyone for your support!  I have read through the first section and am doing my homework assignments.  I'm realizing already that I pay way too much attention to physical symptoms, then right away start panicking over them.  The panic then leads to increased physical symptoms...a vicious cycle.  I liked reading the part about how in panic your body gears up, while fainting is your body's way of shutting down and how the 2 can't go together.  It makes sense, but for some reason my body seems to work different.  I did notice that yesterday I finally had an appetite again, and enjoyed eating.  A small step forward!

Anitra

I know some one with a similar problem and she too is a councelor. She has syncope. And there is no medical reason but it is thought to be connected to panic also. I have some ideas on it you could think about. In the mean time welcome to the site.

Here for you,
Davit.

Welcome Anitra,
Being a counselor you probably know a lot more about panic and agoraphobia then I do...but I can  attest to this program working...it will work for you too!
I've  had many , many panic episodes where I think I'm going to pass-out...but I never have. That's a common thing with a   panic  attack. I used to always think that by grabbing a support..whatever that may have been, a wall, grocery cart, chair..that those saved me from actually fainting..but  I know now that  it was just the panic, making me feel faint, from what I've learnt here our bodies go into opposite gear  of when  a person  really faints..  By what you've written it sounds like it is panic...and now the constant worry is setting you up for yet more panic. I understand. Look over the progam, see what you think of it, and remember..you are never alone in this..we are all here for eachother.

Welcome Anitra,

I encourage you to begin Session 1.  It seems like one of your triggers is focusing on physical sensations like I did.  You will learn what your triggers are and you will learn successful coping skills. You will gain control over your anxiety and panic attacks and not be at the mercy of them anymore or fear them anymore.  We are all here for you and we're glad you joined us.  I've gotten worked up, in the past, where hyperventilation triggered the process of feeling faint.  I understand the tingling feeling you get in your face and that tin canny ringing in your ears and woosiness.  The sooner you start, the quicker you are on your way to recovery.  Never give up!  Keep moving forward.  The program will help and friends in this support group will help.  You are not alone and you will get well.  Believe it!

Hello Anitra66,

Welcome to the Panic Center and thank you for sharing your story with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.
