Stuck? How can we help?

I would have to say for me it is encouragement, compassion, and understanding.

I think it takes a combination of truth, compassion, and kick in the butt.  Some days you just need that extra push, some days you need a hug.  If a person knows you well enough and has a good sense of empathy, they'll know just when to apply that extra pressure and when to let it go.  I suppose this is why we need professionals to help us, they would know how to do this just at the right times.

As much as I don't "like" it, I agree with the whole "kick in the butt" stance.  For example, it was my husband who said, "We ARE going on the plane."  I didn't like the thought of that at all, but it sure gave me a goal to work towards and that has helped me in all other areas.  I think it helps me compete with the whole avoidance thing.

I like the truth. Well, I'm lying, I don't like the truth, but the truth gets me going and I will like that in the long run. And if compassion is your truth at that time, that is always welcome too.

I  like  compassion and positivity to get me out of a slump, but sometimes I need a kick in the butt. Just knowing that there is someone who understands  makes me feel  a lot better.

If they knew me the way my therapist knows me or most of my friends then they could just say I am slacking. I would not take offence. You know full well how hard it is to get motivated with this condition. There is a time to work and a time to play but there is no time for giving up. This morning since there is no one around to do it I am kicking my own butt. Just stopped for a cup of tea and some cookies. Today I would love to sit in a chair and look at all those good reasons to give up. And they do seem like good reasons.

I just need my butt kicked once in a while because I'm basically lazy and panic allows me a reason to be lazy.

Davit, being grumpy today.

Hi members,

We all have times when we are procrastinating, feeling down or just don’t feel like doing the work to achieve the goals we want or to follow the path that is most fulfilling to us.  Well, we are here to support you and help you through these “slumps”. However, we all like to be supported and encouraged differently; some like compassion and others like tough love.  How do you like to be supported when you are in a slump?  What would you like us to say to you to help you through it?
