I just don't know what I'd want to ask... maybe it is difficult because there is only one question accepted, but I don't know, I have a lot of questions that probably will need more info to be answered anyway... like will I be anxiety free one day.. that is a broad questions or how will I rid of anxiety? Questions like that don't have only one answer... so I don't know what I'd ask.

Yes, Davit it is true many people are uncomfortable seeing a counselor face to face especially individuals with Panic.  Unfortunately, this is a free program which is privately funded so offering every individual their own online counselor would be very difficult in terms of financing.  If we could offer it we would!  But you are very right, there are also many individuals in remote areas who are unable to access counselors.  We are always working to offer the best possible free program though!

Red,  That's a great questions.  Hopefully Dr. Farvolden chooses yours! I would be interested in hearing the answer myself!

Well I have gotten brave and have submitted a question for the Doctor.  I am interested in hearing what the answer will be.
Is PTSD curable and if so what is the best course of treatment??  I am one of those people that is not seeing a counselor.  I know that the doctors answer does not replace seeing a health care professional.  Being that I had a spouse die with ptsd and dementia, war connected and professionals were not able to cure him or help him.  I was wondering what would be the chances of the ptsd that I now have being cured.  It is hard to avoid  transference when you are a sole caregiver of a veteran.  It does leave you scared and with Ptsd of your own to deal with.  I would like to know if their is hope for this condition?

A pity since we have seen how many people are afraid to go to a councillor. Still it should be interesting.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to add that the expert feature is not intended to replace the advice of a counselor or health care professional.  This feature is to simply supplement the content of the already full CBT program.  Also remember the health educators and other members are here to support you on a daily basis!

I myself think it will be great and even exciting each month to see which question is picked.......but I may be biased

This feature has potential but only one question a month? What happens if it is a non specific question with a non specific answer that everyone already knows the answer to then it is wasted. If it is to benefit the whole group then it limits the question to that which every one has in common and rules out valuable knowledge of value to only a few. I just don't know. It would be nice if it was once a week to cover some specific concern that needs addressing. But even at that a week is plenty of time to lose people if they think there concerns are not being dealt with. We shall have to wait and see. The one benefit will be that the expert can make recommendations. But I find quite often there is not enough information to do that.

Davit, Pondering this tough question.

Davit, I am not sure yet.  I will have to see how it pans out.  It might be helpful if more than one question could be answered a month.  Maybe one question a week.  I my self have not come up with a question yet.  I would like to know what your thoughts are on this feature Davit, you haven't said?

Members,

We have an exciting new feature at the Panic Center!  Our resident expert Dr. Farvolden will now be answering one member question a month!   This is a great resource and I am sure everyone on the site will take full advantage!  Take a look under Ask the Expert on the top navigation bar and if you like submit a question!
