Anerol,
Congratulations!!! You are overcoming your fears and anxiety.  This is no small feat.  You should be very proud. You are getting stronger and you are beating it.  You are winning.  The anxious and negative thoughts didn't win this time. Give yourself a pat big pat on the back and remember to reward your in some way.  I am so happy and proud of you.

You are being courageous in fighting this anxiety.  You are strong.

How does it feel knowing you are making progress?

Hi,
my minor success today was that I still made spaghetti even if I was anxious. Today, my anxiety seemed like 'the different one' where I couldn't believe it was just anxiety. When I'm anxious I'm usually afraid to cook alone because "I could faint while the fire is on"is one of my negative thoughts. But I kept telling myself that I'm doing fine and that it wont happen and it didn't. I made fine spaghetti.

Awesome, Davit!
It's nice to know that now that you coped once, that cake will be a little less tough! LOL
Also, good for you for stopping by your fave restaurant.  That makes for a positive highlight to reflect on.

Lucid.

Very similar. I had to take my car in and had hospital appointments and was wondering how I would get from one to the other. On top of that I was tired from work in the garden. It was starting to play on me. I told myself that I would figure some thing out. I figured that they could maybe drop me at the Hospital and I would figure out how to get back some how. Not worth worrying about. They lent me a truck instead. Big truck. Felt like a tank, but I managed, and the day went OK. I even stopped at my favourite restaurant for hot chocolate and conversation. Some pain but no panic, not even any anxiety other than before going. After all what else could I do. And I have to do it again next week but I know they will lend me the truck again so piece of cake. ( tough cake but still piece of cake)

Davit, feeling proud of himself.

I totally agree...hearing about successes is so important.  Anxiety can be so overwhelming and defeating, so you truly feel like you're out of control and encased by it.  But, you're not.  Just being here and having the great attitudes that you people have (you all sound so positive) is an important part of ridding yourself of that anxiety.

So, if we know that hearing about successes is helpful, why don't we try to do what Davit suggested:  "lets keep those posts coming even if it seems minor".  That is great advice, Davit!  It not only helps others, but also helps us to recognize that we are getting better and stronger!

Here's one of mine from Monday:  I was driving my kid to school, as it was my day off.  I took a route that I couldn't even think about in the past, let alone drive.  To top it off, I had a lot of nasal congestion, which always makes me feel foggy and therefore is a perfect storm for triggering attacks.  I started to feel woozy at one section of the road that makes me feel "penned in", but has an escape part that I used to use and therefore only fuel my panic for subsequent times driving that road.  Instead of using the escape, I keep going and reminded myself that I felt that way because of my head cold, not because of an anxiety attack.  I did some deep breathing, and relaxed myself.  It took almost no time at all for the feeling to subside and I felt back to normal.

Okay, everyone....what's your minor / major success of the day? :-)

Lucid,
Congradulation!!!
It great to read about your success.  I know your post will inspire many people and give them hope me included.  We have good days and bad days and reading a post like this reminds us of the good days just in case we forgot because we are having bad anxiety day.
