The best way of going back to school for me was going with a friend who was taking similar classes that way i can relax and concentrate in what the profesor was explaining

Hi Red,
Congrats on your success. I also have a fear of going back to school. The thing I fear about is the length of time also and if I ever get a panic attack during the class. I'm also afraid of the rules because I feel like it will be pressure to me if I am not able to accomplish them due to my anxiety and of course that will lead me to stress about it and give me anxiety in return. But I do want to go back... lately I'm thinking I'd like to get a massage therapy license... but school is still an overwhelming thought for me. Anyways, thanks for sharing your experience.

Princesspat,
Thanks for the Addie boys.  I really did not know what to expect. I thought the class would be more structured.  Everyone learns for each other in this class there is not much instruction.  I will have to see how it goes.  Yes I did have worries but they were no founded in reality because everything worked out ok and I did ok.  I did need a break before break time but held out till break time.  I did start talking to other students about needing a break about 20 minutes before we had a break and they were ready for a break also.  The teacher asked if we needed a break and most everyone said yes. So we had a break.
It is a 3 hrs class and we were not really doing anything productive and everyone was just talking waiting for the teacher to start teaching the class.  So the biggest problem for me is the length of the class and needing structure to keep my interest.  I am tired today from all of my exposure yesterday, but I should be better in a few days.  Pat just keep taking small steps and I know you will be able to take a class like you want.  It just takes time and it is scary but after your out the door and into the class its really ok.  What things are you worried about?  No own is all dressed up and actually a lot of the ladies in the class looked tired and like they had been thought a lot in life. There were thin people meaty people.  Mostly of the people were very friendly.  It really wasn't bad at all.  I am not sure if this answer any of the questions or worries? I hope it helps.

Way to go Red! I'm so happy that this was a positive experience for you, one taht you were able to enjoy, I hope there will be many more. What were your expectations going into the class? Did you have any worries that in the end did not matter? I ask because I've wanted to take  a few classes, but I've been not going through with it, because I worry about some things, some silly things...maybe one day I'll be where you are.

I am home from the first day of my quilting class and stopping to shop for supplies on the way home.  I had a really good time at the class meeting some of the ladies.  I am really very happy with the progress I have made here with the panic center program.  I have been trying to take a class for the last 20 yrs and I do not think it would have been possible with out the aid of this program the educators and all the support I have received from everyone here in this group. It has taken a lot of hard work getting to this point and it has been well worth every minute of it.  I have been happy and sad, laughed and cried through it all and I have not regrets about coming here for help.  It has saved my life and made it worth living.  I want to tell you if you are reading this that you can and will get better.  I am living proof of that.  I am a little tired so I will be signing off for now. Talk to you all later.  Good night all !!!
