shortness of breath

Lisa and colleen

Thank you. I need to talk to a lot more people but yes it helps. I get the same with sugar or black tea. Some times if I can do something mindless for 15 minutes it goes away. Calcium and Lemon Balm still works so I have managed to stay off the meds. Even through Christmas. When I do have to resort to meds it is only two and a half mg of valium.  I have arthritis and when it flares my anxiety goes down. Three days a week I take an anti biotic and on those days it goes up. There is a connection here somewhere.

when i am tired or fatigued my anxiety goes down unless i am having panic attacks for several days, then nothing stops it except meds. I noticed sugary or caffienated foods cause my anxiety to rise.
I am on paxil now and it has helped my anxiety quite a bit. hardly use the xannax now.
hope this helps!

I have noticed that when I have a cold, flu, bronchitis or just feeling sick then my anxiety is way higher.  I am noticing that certain meds and certain foods are triggering my symptoms and making them worse.  I see my Dr. Monday to talk about Effexor and some other issues so hopefully it helps me!  Good luck Davit with your appt!

Samantha.

I have to see my Doctor (MD) and my Therapist on the 6 th. I would like to talk with them first to see if where I am going with this is any where. It goes something like this. It is possible that toxins from another disease may be interfering with how I perceive or process information. If medication, certain moulds, hallucinogens and even food, (although that could still be mould) and things such as yeast (candida) can affect how we think then why not toxins. I don't want to sound secretive, I just don't want to take it any where if I'm wrong. Anxiety like some diseases seem to be progressive. We are not always born with or to them. Some seem to be aquired out of nowhere. And me being curious I want to know why. I hate treating the symptoms if I can treat the problem. There is nothing wrong with treating the symptoms if it will give releif and often that is neccessary but I still want to get to the root of why a guy like me should have got it and had it take such a big part out of my life. Like my Blog says. "just me". Just something I have to check.
Thanks for putting up with my querkyness.

Hey Davit,

I'm sorry that I confused the information you are seeking. There often can be correlations between certain conditions and anxiety. Can you explain again what you were looking for? I am definitely interested in why you are seeking this information and I apologize if I didn't appear to be! We are always here to support and provide with the feedback we can.

Sorry but that is not why I'm looking for the information. I will seek the information among my community and from my therapist, she may well be interested in why I want this. She might even surprise me and already know what I am looking at. I may well have found a non mental medical reason for my ongoing battle with anxiety which I am going to have to research very thoroughly before I mention it. My doctor who is a wealth of knowledge both mainstream and oddball may know of this thing I have found and be able to shed some light on it. I came across an interesting article while researching Arthritis and it is a known fact that Arthritis and depression go together. In fact depression and fatigue show up before the pain most often. This is just something I am doing for my own curiosity. It may well go nowhere but on the other hand it could be what I am looking for to get rid of my anxiety. The two did show up pretty much together. It might even explain why when I feel physically fine my anxiety level goes up. It might not be that when I'm well I am forced to do things I don't want to.  Regarding foods and nutrition, there are certain things that I avoid because of their effect but they are all short term, only a few hours. I'm looking for a more long term connection.
I might consult with people with RA and see how much depression they have with it.

Hi Davit,

Thanks for inquiring about anxiety during colds and flus and during fatigue. Regarding specific nutrition, certain foods will effect people differently. If you suspect that certain foods are affecting your anxiety, I would suggest seeking consult from your doctor.

Members, what have your experiences been with pneumonia, colds and anxiety?

Hello every one.

I am here looking for information. Has any one here had Micoplasmic Pneumonia? Did your anxiety go down when you were sick from this or any other thing, flu, cold or cronic disease? Or did it get worse? How about fatique? Are you better or worse when you are tired?  Any information would be greatly appreciated. And this may seem like a silly question but there is a logic reason for me asking. Does any one do better on a strict vegitarian diet, preferably no milk or eggs.

Thank you.

i know my cuz used to get flushed face from anxiety. I was having what i thought was hot flashes for a few months before the anxiety really hit me hard. I was waking up at night and off and on all day I would feel like i was burning up. after the anxiety eased up, so did the heat sensations. I may not be going through menopause after all. anxiety is the DEBIL!
good luck to u, keep us updated. box breathing takes some practice but it helps with heart racing, palps and hyperventilating that causes the shortness of breath but meds help me the most.

Thank you Colleen.  Happy New Year to you as well!  Good luck with things and I hope you get feeling better.  Earlier along with the other symptoms I also had a flushed face, but no fever.  I am hoping that the Effexor takes care of all of these symptoms!  I am glad that the breathing techniques are working for you.  I haven't been doing them much lately because it hasn't seemed to help me...although I am wondering if I was doing them correctly!  Looks like I need to go to my toolbox and do some more work!  Good luck with everything Colleen.  Things will get better!
