Hi SIM,
I will try the deep breathing & meditating a little more. I do have some tapes I can play that might help. I have been noticing negative thinking and then trying to stop that. I have alot going on right now which might be making my stress level higher and making my anxiety worse. I think it's great you are getting a handle on the negative thinking. Writing everything down really helps me with that but I don't have a grasp of it yet, still working on it. I also try to give myself little things to look forward to during the day at certain times and I think I might add those tapes to that. Thanks for the great ideas! I hope your weekdays go well for you. Shel

Hi Shel,

How did the rest of the weekend go for you? I was really able to eliminate negative thoughts and worries from my mind this weekend. I tried out some relaxation techniques, deep breathing. This really helped me focus my thoughts and channel my energy. I will definitely be trying that out again. Have you ever tried deep breathing or meditating?

Hi SIM,
Thanks for the support and for letting me see hope in doing the work here. I'm happy it has helped you. Right now I've been writing down my anxious thoughts and if I have any panic experiences during the day. I've been more aware of negative thoughts that might just be made up stuff in my head. I think I do that because I want to look ahead in order to not be surprised by something bad. I'm beginning to see that doing this work is making me more aware of why I'm thinking the way I do. I would like to discuss things that come up with us during this process. Thanks and great to meet you. Shel

Hi Shel,

I am quite new to this group myself. I just want you to know that it has really helped me so far, I mean it's a slow battle but with time and using this program, improvements can be made. You seem to have really accepted that this is something you can get through and I am right there beside you. Because like you, I was in the same sinking ship. And I'm happy to say that since I started using this program maybe a week ago, I feel like I've begun to bail some water out and maybe even patch a hole or two. Let's help each other and share experiences with each other.

Shel,
That is what we are for!  I am convinced you ARE on the right track! It is great that you are recognizing what works for you (writing things down) and it makes lots of sense. Writing things down puts it into focus and can often clarify thoughts and feelings for people.

Here for you Shel, stay strong!

Thanks Samantha, It makes me feel better to know I'm not alone but I hate that others are suffering with this problem too. It actually lifts a little of the burden off my shoulder and it seems like I am on the right track and will continue to do the lessons and homework. It is makes me feel better when I write down my anxious thoughts and panic attacks. I did not even realize I was having panic attacks until I joined this group. I felt so much shame with this and writing it down seems to take it out of me and on the paper, if that makes any sense. At the same time I can't pretend I don't have a problem so I'm seeing things for what they are. Thanks so much for helping me. Shel

Hi Shel,

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I can say for sure that you are not alone, there are lots of other people who have had similar symptoms and experiences. Being able to identify what it is that you are going through is a step in the right direction. As Josie said, go through the program at your own pace and post whenever you need to. We are here for you through this and support you all the way.
